Only 1 test date open through May

I felt I was being proactive by scheduling my May AUD retake this morning. I was shocked to see there is only 1 date open for this window, on April 17. I’ve always scheduled weeks in advance and never seen it booked up so early like this.

Is it your experience that Prometric / AICPA / NASBA will release additional dates for this window as the days go by?

The next nearest location is 120 miles away. 🙁

They usually only open dates when something weather related has happened, and to my knowledge no centers have closed down due to weather this quarter (though the quarter just started, so you never know I guess).

    AUD: 84
    BEC: 76
    FAR: 81
    REG: 4/3/15

I scheduled most of mine a couple of months in advance. It is my understanding that as the centers fill they open more test dates closer to the day, but it may just appear that way due to cancellations. If you check back regularly I'm sure you will find something.

At the beginning of March I started looking at dates to sit for FAR in May. By the time I submitted the info to get my NTS, there were only 3 or 4 dates left – none of which were convenient for my schedule. I decided I'd probably just drive about 100 miles to another nearby testing center. Thankfully, by the time I got my NTS, there were 7 or 8 dates open. Now when I look I think there is only one day left.

So I would say it is possible for dates to open up, depending on your testing center. You might wait just a little while longer (while watching the seats at the other testing center to make sure they stay available). It may be that one opens up at your local testing center. Good luck!

They're not likely to add more dates but if you're proactive about checking over and over you'll see seats open up due to cancellations.

My experience taking the exam. This test window is always tough to schedule. My theory is all the college kids schedule. I know when I was at Northern Iowa we took review classes and they basically walked us through the whole process and a lot of us scheduled for the second quarter window in January. I assume other colleges do something similar.

Keep checking back daily. People are always dropping/rescheduling/moving and testing windows tend to open up

    BEC - PASS JULY 2014
    FAR - PASS DEC 2014
    AUD - PASS FEB 2015
    REG - PASS MAY 2015

I heard may is a very busy month. Busy season ends 4/15 so people like to sit after that.

Also remember Prometric has other tests going on at the same time so you are just filling an open seat. I heard tests for GMAT, GRE, and CMA while there so it is not unusual that others are taking a different test than yourself and filling up seats unless Prometric saves a certain amount of seats for CPA only candidates.

    Journey Started - January 2015
    FAR - 4/2015 - Passed
    AUD - 7/2015 - Passed
    BEC - 8/2015 - Passed
    REG - 11/12/2015 - Passed

Yes I believe Prometric has a certain amount of seats for CPA candidates only which is why you'll often see empty seats. They basically say we have 10 desks, for each time slot 2 will be for CPA, 2 for GMAT, then the real estate license exam, insurance license exam, GRE, CMA, Electricians exam, etc.

Where does everyone live? I just sent in my application fee and so I haven't received my notice to schedule with prometric yet. Hoping to schedule Audit at the end of May but I live in very densely populated (San Francisco) area so I would think Prometric shouldn't be packed.
