    NINJA Question –

So I am spending some time practicing the SIMS in Ninja and after a few problems i have come across a problem with the grading of the SIMS and how the J/E’s are ordered. Bottom line does it matter if the J/E’s are in order? For Example I believe it is SIM 30 in FAR. I put

    Treasury Stock xx

    Retained Earnings xx

    APIC xx

    Cash xx

    The correct answer is

    Treasury Stock xx

    APIC xx

    Retained Earnings xx

    Cash xx

So as you can see i mixed up APIC and Retained earnings to what the software had and I got that portion wrong. Since I debited the right account and the right amount I believe it should be right. Is there some sort of rule that shows what order the J/E’s are supposed to be? I don’t want to get something wrong on the test for this small of a reason.

Sorry when I posted it it doesn't show debit or credit but Cash is the credit in both.

it isn't going to be wrong on the exam, there is no right order for JEs. it's just a limitation of the software that seemingly plagues the entire CPA review course industry. the AICPA cares enough and is competent enough to create a test that will accept any order of answers, but apparently, you're asking too much of your $1500+ review course to display a shred of competence

Thanks for the answer dragnets. That is what I thought. I only spent 47 bucks on my review course so I'll take it up with Jeff 😛

Remember the AICPA has much deeper pockets than the Ninja's. Their software is proprietary and very heavily guarded. Just know that as long as you put the debits/credits with the right amount and the right account, you will get it right on the test.
