Oh my word, I love tax season, but I don't know if I want to do extensions next year……I know how can I complain when I am making money. Here's the thing, my customers wait until the day or two before the dead line and now find a shoe box of receipts and stuff…..most of which I can't use. What a head ache, when I need to be studying………

wow this makes me feel a bit better.. tax season was …

anyway, I just finished my 1st tax season 9/15-10/15 and not the 4/15 one. 2 questions:

    1. is the 4/15 or 3/15 busier? I heard it's not as bad because you can just do extension and push it off.

    2. what am I gonna do now that busy season is over until next year… i'm new so not sure what to expect. I feel like even my boss will struggle for projects. eh.

either way, glad we made it through guys. I was seriously about to cry. I also miss my past 2 months worth of Saturdays!!

Van – 1) Usually fall tax season is a cake walk, but there are usually a few clients who wait for the last day just to stress us out. The Spring deadlines are by far the worst of the 2 tax deadlines, at least for me. Even though you can extend, I have found that most clients do not want to extend.

    2) You may have trouble if you do not have FYE audits or payroll clients. I have found that most of my vacation time is used in the last 2 months of the year.

    CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!
    Ethics Course: Passed
    Application Mailed: 3/16/15
    Professional Conduct Exam: 97
    Certification Date: 4/2/15!!!

@Van At my firm, I do a lot of payroll returns and a lot of quarterly things so that takes up most of my time when I'm no longer doing income tax returns.

I made it and I'm still sane. This has to be the longest extention filing I have ever done. I did not realize how many. People had not filed their taxes……not complaining about making money. Well I guess I'll get a good night's rest, because tomorrow it's extreme studying.
