This will be the first time I’ve gone to one. I’m guessing the sales/marketing manager will be doing most of the speaking (forecasting sales) and I’ve spent days making notes on the financial statements based on the questions I would ask. What should I expect?

Aw gee sorry this is in the FAR forum, I always forget it defaults there.

I've never been to a Board of Directors meeting but I've been to a lot of Council meetings. I just wait until I come up on the agenda and then start my presentation on whatever I'm there for. Sometimes I go to review monthly financial statements and sometimes it's to give the council the audit report and to answer questions. I wish I could help more. 🙁

It depends on what/who the board is made up of, what their knowledge is, what their company interests are, and who is present at the meeting. Is it institutional investors, other management parties, friends/cronies of the CEO? What kind of major agenda items to be discussed, i.e. quarterly reporting, annual budgeting, restructuring, mergers, new management installation, etc will also set some of the meeting tone for it it be routine, critical, or adversarial.

    Couldn't pass again!
