I have kids that make an UNGODLY amount of noise…just freaking scream to scream so I need my Bose headphones and my music to block them out.

Here's what I have on mine:

    -Matchbox 20

    -Duke Ellington (the Pianist)

    -Jim Cullum jazz band

-Ray (there you are Veronica, a fan)

-Chicago (Stay the night, the cool stuff)

    -Rod Stewart

    -Rolling Stones

    -ZZ top

    -Def Leppard

I find though that I do better when there are no lyrics. I end up singing instead of focusing.

    Good luck to all.

This stinks!! Work blocks all of the music feeds so I don't get to enjoy what yall are posting. I study at work and if I don't have my iPod I have to studying to the wonderful tunes of frustrated accounting people pound on the 10-key.

At first I was against music while studying, but now I can't go 10 minutes with out it. Pandora and Spotify have been a much needed boost. Even finding new artists I like.

Pandora saves my life at work. Well, that and sports radio.

My tastes are all over but right now:

    Cage the Elephant

    MGMT

    The Black Keys

    LMFAO

    Lupe Fiasco

    One Republic

    RHCP

    The Kooks

    Bo Burnham

    Foster the People

    Starting all over.

I had Foster the People on repeat for about a month…I tend to do that. I just got done with a Band of Horses marathon and am listening to awolnation this week.

I hope I'm in the mood for radiohead as the concert approaches 🙂

That's how I was with Cage the Elephant when their first album came out.

Unfortunately with all the studying I haven't had a chance to stay up to date with any new bands or albums. Should make for a fun time once this is all over.

    Starting all over.

I use Pandora, and then build stations off new songs/artists I find that I like. sometimes I'll hit shuffle on my iPod and see if I can find some old gems in my 2,500+ song. or maybe it's 3,000 now I don't know.

    Starting all over.

@RedStorm — I have a lot of similar interests. I LOVE the Black Keys…I still haven't heard an album I like as much as Rubber Factory; in all honesty though, I liked them better before they sold out. Since we're going indie, I also like:

-Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltzin

    -Rogue Wave

    -The Rapture

    -The Subways

    -White Denim

    -Wilco

    -Flaming Lips

    -The Heavy

    -Band of Horses

    -Cold War Kids

    -Tokyo Police Club

    -VHS or Beta

    -The Raconteurs

    -Interpol

    -Kaiser Chiefs

    -Neutral Milk Hotel

I like your style… Jeff, Baseball and RedStorm! Good stuff 🙂

Here is the million dollar question. I bought my Austin City Limits Festival passes last year. Line up should be out in the next couple of months. Then my 10 year high school reunion got scheduled for the same weekend in October this year. Which to do? I'm totally leaning towards ACL.

@veronica….ACL!!! FOR SURE!!! I've never been but it's on my bucket list…you would think I would have gone when I lived there for 3 years but I avoided that area like the plague when it was going on.

    REG-80, 77, 77
    BEC-67, 68, 71, 67, 71, 74, 71, 74, 72, 77
FAR- 72, 65,67, 53, 75 (truth be known the 53 was with 4 hours of studying)
    AUD-58, 62, 72, 74, 74, 75
took 5 years but I'm DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Jeff — That is hands down my favorite indie song and POSSIBLY in my top 5 favorite songs of all time (it's hard to compete with Zeppelin, Hendrix, Joel, Elton John, but it sure as hell tries!).

@Veronica — I say blow off the reunion too; not that it wouldn't be cool to go and show everyone what a bad@ss you've become, but the ACL? I don't think you can pass it up! When I was in college, my friends and I used to go to the Coachella Music Festival every year and it was the most fun I've ever had. Music festivals are amazing. Unfortunately, now they say I have to be a grown-up and I can't go rage with the college kids anymore! I hope you go and then fill us in with all the amazing details!
