It's gotta be fake…although a family member is a nurse and I proposed the following:

“Ok, so your dog had 5 puppies and they are pooping all over the place (a true scenario at the time…). Someone bought one of the puppies. What is the reduction in poop?”

“5 down to 4 … that's 20%”

“Yes. Let's say after a week, they brought the puppy back. What is the % increase in poop?”

“20%”.

“No – it's 25%.”

“Poop is poop, Jeff”.

lol. Thats a good one too. Definitely more forgiving though for a non-numbers person than the 80 mph.

Valuation experts deal with this a lot with control premiums and minority discounts. Some clients (and even some valuation professionals) incorrectly believe that you can just back out one of them by using the same number.
