As a tax preparer (or “bottom feeder” as my professor once called the profession), I’m just baffled by some of the STUPID things people do. The deeper I get into tax season, the less patience I have. For example:

Cashing in a 401K to buy a car. REALLY?

Doing the Pop-In and interrupt me to ask a “quick question” that ends up taking 30 minutes. Make an appointment, people. Along those lines, people just don’t respect our appointment time the way they do a doctor’s. I have lots of no-shows.

Most of my appointments consist of 1/3 getting relevant information to do their taxes, 1/3 listening to their medical problems and 1/3 Obama-bashing.

I get haterz because their refund isn’t what they “got last year” or their friend “got way more”.

I realize they owe because of XYZ, but I had anything to do with their stupid financial choices yet I probably won’t get paid.

I try my best to get my clients in the best position as possible, but I have ethics and I’m not losing my license because they want to lie.

Wish they’d wash the poultry juice out of the grocery bag before they put 8,905 (uncalculated) receipts in it.

On the bright side, we have 2 1/2 more weeks of this AND I am NOT studying this year.

    Good luck everyone!
