OT: the CPA exam is making me put on a few

Yes, I am here to whine. And yes, it is all my fault. The comfort eating, the stressed drinking, the sitting on my butt studying rather than going for a run or doing yoga. I bought a scale today. What I saw when I stepped on it was not pretty. The test makes me depressed and neurotic enough without having to worry about my health/weight. I bought healthy snacks today and resolve to do better.

In some positive news, I got through about 100 F2 questions today. That’s pretty great, despite my ever expanding ass.

Have you ever tried studying on work-out supplements? Way better than Redbull. 🙂 I am studying for FAR as well and it's super hard to find time to go to the gym, but I still try to go about 3 times a week to make sure my head stays clear. You can do it!

It's really hard for me to think you can't spare 30 minutes of your day to go for jog.

When I first started this journey 7 months ago I was pretty fit cause I played a lot of soccer in college and was on a few teams.

I've put on quite a few pounds since then… Well over 15…. It's disgusting but I'm not worried about it. I lose quick and once this exam is over it's time to get on that 6 pack.

Don't stress too much, your goal is the CPA right now.

I agree with cpatime. This past year, when I was really concentrating on passing this exam I gained about 15 lbs. Now that I have all my sections passed and partied it up to celebrate, now I'm turning my motivation and determination from the exam towards my weight loss.

Don't worry about the weight to much. Like you did but some healthy snacks and drink lots of water. Whenever you're feeling like you're not getting something about the exam and it's really frustrating you, take a walk or run. You'll feel much clearer and better.

    Good luck to you.

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

@jenunuo01… yeah, it's not a matter of having no time so much as it is a matter of “if I have free time I want to spend it with my friends or family rather than working out.” So basically, it's me making excuses.

@sarah210, I've been whining about the same thing since I began this journey. I've put on a good 20 lbs and my friends are so nice and always say they can't tell; my family, on the other hand, they have no problem saying it. I have my mom buying me pills (okayed by Dr. OZ as she says) that are supposed to help with weight loss. I've kind of accepted the fact, though, and keep telling myself that if I give the time I've given for this exam to work on myself once it's over, I'll be okay! It'll be the same for you!! Don't feel bad…I think it's a very natural side effect of this crappy CPA process 🙂

    F - PASSED (11/26/11)

    B - PASSED (7/14/12)
    R - PASSED (8/31/12)

Just waiting to be able to put those three little letters behind my name...

I am the opposite, I did put on weight the first year I was studying but this year I have lost 45 lbs while studying. I go for a walk everyday between getting home from work and studying. I think the exercise really refreshes me for studying. And I have been eating healthy too. I think it has helped my studying, I got my highest grade yet since I started this new healthy lifestyle.

I put on the most weight working crazy hours at my first job. Added 25 new little friends in 1 year. I eat a lot better now, but still dont get to work out as much. I am spoiled too, I live right by my apartment complex's gym. But I'd rather just sleep sometimes. I will be a CPA one day, I may be heavier than I want, but I will be a CPA ….

I am also the opposite, I have lost about 10lbs since last year. I wish I had more time to lift and get my 6-pack back… All I do is cardio :/ I try to eat healthy, lots of protein, water, Coke Zero and an ocassional Chimichanga pig-out feast. Oh and taking Napuelas also helps you lose weight.
