Over 90 on 1 section, failed a different one?

I am curious if anyone has scored in the 90’s in one section but failed a different section.

When I look at signature lines, I can’t recall coming across any with 1 exam passed at 90+ and then a retake/fail for a different section. I know it’s possible, of course (I was only 5 points away myself on FAR), but I wonder if there’s a rule of thumb to be discovered with that…like breaking a barrier. Say, if you score 90+ on any one exam, your chances of failing a section are reduced by X%.

Yes…probably wishful thinking but at the same time, I find it interesting that I can’t recall ever seeing it…

    FAR: 7/17/14- 79
    AUD: 8/20/14- 91
    REG: 10/1/14- 88
    BEC: 11/10/14- 85

Yup, that happened to me. I got a 95 in BEC and then failed REG, but BEC was extremely easy for me since I have a masters degree in finance and one of my undergrad majors was economics. REG wasn't easy for me since I've never found taxes to be intuitive…
