Anyone recently licensed in PA know how long this process takes, especially under the new law that permits you to obtain experience in industry?

Yes, me. See the other thread I started. I just went through this process and I have experience only in industry.

I initially applied on July 2nd and got the approval notice on Nov 19th (the day I was scheduled to be honored by PICPA for passing the cpa exam). The only reason why it took this long was I had to send in 2 separate follow up supporting docs to the board. Each time you send in a support, it takes another 3-4 weeks for them to re-evaluate your application.

When you sent in your application, did you have the verifier write a detailed statement on your experience? If not, it might get rejected.

Thanks! I believe I saw your thread before I just didn't know how long it took. Because of that I did write a detailed narrative and am having him go thorough it and sign off and sending it with. I have no desire for this to take as long as you had to endure! However given the holidays I'm not getting my hopes up.

@govtec- What support you need to send with Experience Verification Form to PA State board? I have industry experience. Thanks

Govtec! – Glad to hear you finally got your license.

Coming from another PA industry candidate, I did not send in any additional experience info with my application. It did take a while (2 1/2 months), but I was licensed with no additional information required. I do think it's not a bad idea to send in as much as you can on the initial application.

@smazthespaz. Thank you. I have only accounting experience in Industry. Do you think it should be good enough? Did you send any support for Actual hours worked? Do I need to send detailed explanation of my experience or just bullet points (like Resume) are good enough?

patelpn3 – All of that was filled out by the verifier, so I am not sure exactly what was written down. I'm pretty sure there was a section detailing the amount of hours required and all what was required was a breakdown of my hours and the signature of the verifier. And yes, industry experience is good enough; it was all I had too. It's a good thing they abolished the requirement of 1/3 of your total hours to be in auditing. I definitely would've been screwed, to put it bluntly.
