Past internship on resume, if you're currently in same role full time?

Hi everyone, I couldn’t find an old thread with this same question. I’m currently updating my resume and have been working in audit for the past year. I also completed an audit internship with the same firm the summer prior to starting full time.

Should I include this internship on the resume, since it’s basically just a watered-down version of what I’ve been doing full time the past year? I don’t want to take up space I could use otherwise, but I guess it could also look bad as a gap in employment. Perhaps just include the company and job title with no bullet points underneath? Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

If it had the similar job functions you may just list it along with your current full time role such as:

    ABC LLP

Audit Associate Aug. 2014 – Present

    Audit Intern May 2014 – July 2014

    Job Duties:

    A

    B

    C

Or however it is that you have your resume formatted, I would probably find a way to include it though as it will provide more work experience and show that you were hired full time following an internship so you must have been a valuable intern.

Don't give it any bullet points, but yes, include it on your resume.

I think the answer also depends on what you want to replace the internship experience with. Is it relevant data? If you are replacing it with your hobbies, then that's probably not good idea.
