Pay application fee twice?

So when I first applied to take the CPA, I only registered for two tests as suggested because I figured if I failed a test I would want to take it over before moving on to other sections.

So I just passed FAR and I have registered to take REG at the end of August. Since I passed FAR I want to schedule AUD and BEC so now I have to reapply with NASBA and pay another application fee of $95?

I figured once my application was accepted I could just register and pay for the final two tests whenever.

I’m in PA if that makes a difference

In KY (non-NASBA) it was somewhat like that, but the fee was just $30 so that made it better. 🙂

In OH there's a one-time application fee ($140!) the first time you register for exams. If you open up a second NTS, then the application fee gets replaced by a registration fee that ranges between $70 and $130 depending on how many tests you register for.

Oh well. Gotta pay NASBA's salaries somehow.

In CA, there was a application fee of $100, then $50 for every new NTS (regardless of number of sections).

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Also, I saw someone post in another thread something about saying you have to take all the tests you registered for before trying to get a new NTS?

Is this true? I have one NTS for REG that I don't take until the end of August, but I want to apply for another NTS so I can schedule BEC and AUD.

Im hesitant to say “no” because it might be true for a certain state. I can tell you that it isn't true here in CA.

I suggest checking your state board to make sure.

Not as far as I know? Hypothetically, I think you can have four NTSes open at once with AUD on one, BEC on another, etc.

I assume the rule is that you can't have two of the same section active over your open NTSes; that is, you must wait until you fail a section before you can apply for a new NTS for that section. You should be alright.

Hey AgentJohnny006, are these the fees you're referring to?: imgur.com/USwM2Lm.png

It looks like the fees have been reduced.

Since you retook REG and are a CA resident, I guess you have the experience to warrant me asking you: Is the page in the screenshot I posted above the place to start when applying for a new NTS in order to retake a test? I just failed FAR, am waiting on BEC, and am scheduled to take REG in 4 weeks. Could I apply for a new NTS now, or should I wait until after finishing REG? Would I be able to apply for a new NTS after getting my score for BEC, and be able to apply for a third NTS if I end up needing to retake REG?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm just really confused on the whole process. I don't need to resend transcripts, do I? I sure hope not…
