Had a phone interview with the internal HR rep for a major company. Everything went well, she even said that she couldn’t imagine the hiring manager not asking me to come in for a face to face, asked when I’d be available to come in for an interview, etc. Asked how soon I’d be available to start, to which I replied 2 weeks at minimum, but would like longer if possible to settle things at current company. She replied that I might want to start settling things because 2 weeks is probably all I’d be afforded.

So I’m thinking everything went swimmingly! She even said she should hear back from the hiring manager the next day, at most within 2 days. All indication of at least getting called in for a face to face with hiring manager. Emailed a follow up question the following morning to which I received a reply within 5 minutes. Two days later followed up to see how everything was going, no reply. It’s now been 2 days since that follow up and I haven’t heard anything back. Complete radio silence!

So a week ago, great phone interview with all indication of face to face occurring, quick follow up to email the next day, and now nothing!

Anybody ever have this happen to them? What could it mean?
