She acted like I wasn’t qualified or hadn’t read the job description… Not only did I read the description to tailor my resume and cover letter, I reached out to the “Tax Manager” on LinkedIn who replied with his email address so I could forward him my resume and cover letter.
She said she would email me a time for a phone interview with the hiring manager and I never received an email but quite frankly didn’t bother following up because of the taste left in my mouth after the screen. I also shot myself in the foot by giving up my current salary without researching salary potential for the area (hoping to relocate to the Northeast).
She called today and I didn’t pick it up because I was at my desk but left a voicemail. I’ve sent out 24 resumes and cover letters and this is the only one that seems interested in me past a phone screen. (Other jobs were for accountant and financial analysis but my 3 years of experience are in tax, why do these hiring managers think I can’t do journal entries or financial analysis, I have outstanding excel skills and I am a CPA for godsake)
