Hi all,
I finally finished my CPA journey. I can't believe until now that I passed the FAR, and that I finish all the sections in one try.
If you remember, I used to post my crying that "I'd fail for sure". Supprisingly, I received 26 sharings from you guys all over that I can name some here, POTATOGUN, DAN, 2010PLEASE, CPA SOMEDAY, HERBERT7890, WHITESOXFANCPA, TREVOR, GCAULFIE, FARBEHIND, GABE1475, JAN_IN_WI, KEEPON, on and on. I wish that I have alll of your email so that I could send you each thank-you letter. I still remmbered that I felt so devastated after the exam, but all of your sharing and encouragements made me relieve a lot, and I lived in that hope. Withouut those encouragement and sharing, I might reschedule for next year retake. And the hope came true. OMG, I passed. And now, I know I owe you guys my special thank.
My experience:
This forum is really helpful. I study some questions that people bring up. Their explanations are better than in Becker some way. I also learned from how the exam was structured. But please do not rely on it, b/c each person has different exam. Some people say their exams was theoretical, i studied theory a lot, but then it turned out that mine exam was most computational. I made 86!!! .
I know I have luck, because I can only finish 4 tabs out of 10 tabs in in 2 SIMs.
But, I do believe that if you spend time studying, you will succeed. For me, I studied like crazy, my life for 8 months are only work and study: get off from work at 5 and study thru 12, and extra hours during weekend ( I don't have kids yet, but will after this year :) Try to make use of your time, even 30 m lunch, I go over flashcards. Even at my job, while some workers have conversation, I stay away from that conversation and read the notes, and flashcards instead. All of my scores are not in 90s like WHITESOXFANCPA, or POTATOGUN ( I really admire them), but from 81 to 86, which are too perfect for me. For other sections that require memorization, don't be whining that " im not good at memorizing" You still can memorize everthing as long as you spend time "absorbing" it. Write notes and stick them where it catches your eyes. I even put them around my computers at work, at home.
So my general rule of thumb: get whatever time you have. Study it more, and you will be successful.
Again, I'm thankful to all people sharing with me for the past 8 months on this forum.

It sounds like you did a great job on your computational problems...if you knock the socks off the MCQ, you are 70% of the way home...and it sounds like you still pulled another 16% off of those nasty, nasty simulations!. Celebrate - you've earned it!!

offlineMember@annie- Congrats. That must be sucha great feeling not to mention a huge accomplishment. I failed FAR the first time and just retook it a few weeks ago. Leaving the testing center I yet again felt defeated. However, your description of how the test went for you definitely gives me hope. I felt pretty good about MC's (good first testlet, Hard second testlet, and thirs testlet was so-so). However, I too was only abel to finish 4 tabs of the 2 total sims (got both written communications done and two tabs in the first simulation). I think my score should be released in wave 2 so im hopefull and keeping my fingers crossed!!

LOL @ magic 8 ball did i pass!! That song lyric will apply to everybody once they pass all 4 sections! :) Everytime I hear that song, it always reminds me of what I went through and how happy I am to be DONE!! Freedom is awesome!
