hi i m from india , yesterday got the approval from CBA for my eligibility to sit for CPA. Since i am planning to select the section which i am going to write first in the month of may. I was planning to select FAR , AUD and BEC so that i can pay for that and get my NTS.

Now for this part i need help

is it ok to write the BEC before regulation , as in the written communication there is a chance any thing can be asked in the exam from either of the above subject. Please let me know your idea so i can select the appropriate sections.

I think this is fine. People get hung up on the order, but you can do it however you want. Many start with FAR because it is the longest and the hardest. Others may want to start with a section that is easy for them such as AUD or REG because they want to build their confidence. That's why I took REG first, because I work in tax. I did have one question on my BEC word choice that was pure FAR, but it can't have hurt me much as I got a 93. The exams don't really build on themselves that much. Go with whatever order you are comfortable with.

I don't think studying the other sections first would provide any benefit on the BEC written communication so no worries about that. The overlap that I have seen is BEC/AUD and AUD/FAR with a little REG/FAR for deferred tax stuff. I think doing FAR before AUD is beneficial because many have seen FAR type SIMS on the AUD exam.

CPA Exam - Finally DONE (November 2014)
    BEC (08/10/13) 80
    AUD (08/24/13) 65 (11/13/13) 85
    FAR (04/12/14) 81
    REG (07/19/14) 69 (11/29/14) 87!!

Agree with Mama about seeing FAR-related SIMS in AUD, which kind of makes sense…as an auditor you are looking at financial statements, using ratios and financial analysis…

Ajay- I am from India too. If you have already done your CA or ICWA you should not have problems with BEC written communication.

    BEC Passed
    FAR Passed
    AUD Passed
    REG Passed
