Yesterday, I found out that I received a 72 on REG and need to complete REG and FAR by May 1st or I lose Audit.

I believe that if I really buckle down this can happen – I AM SO CLOSE on REG. The question is how to study.

I have no idea how to allocate my time between the two of them – which to study for first – etc etc.

ANY AND ALL – ideas, tips, plans, suggestions – anything would be so greatly appreciated!!!

Do you have Becker? I can give you a detailed study plan

I had Becker but it expired at the end of last month. I was thinking of using Roger Cram for FAR – but I'm not sure what to do with BEC – maybe just do Wiley Test Bank???

Do you have the Ninja MCQ's and notes? I think you should get those for your next round. You need to start studying now and be ready for reg April 1. Then go after Far immediately after. I wouldn't even wait for scores. The bottom line is how disciplined are you to study, study, study…..go for the ninja products. Don't know about Becker and the others but you need to move quickly and effectively.

How many hours can you consistently dedicate in a week and have you taken FAR before?

    FAR 46*, 77
    AUD 70, 79
    BEC 67, 82
    REG 75

    Texas License July 2013

Used Yaeger lectures based on Wiley textbooks

*Studied less than two weeks, forgot I had purchased NTS.

I have a full time job – I can study some at work but I'm not sure how many hours consistently so it will mostly be night time and weeks for me. I do have the NINJA Notes for both products and the NINJA MC for REG. I'm not sure what is realistic for actual study hours – 4 hours a night during the week and bonus hours during day if I can at work and then all day on Saturday and Sunday??

How did you guys use the notes effectively? I know it has “instructions” on the front but did you read them once and then re-write them – or read while you re-wrote them? And did you include the reading and re-writing into your study time for each week?

Also – I did take FAR one time A LONG TIME AGO – the first time I ever took a part and I don't think that counts for anything b/c I was so unprepared and had absolutely NO IDEA what to expect.

In the first post you say you need to pass FAR and REG, but then in your reply you say BEC. Can you clarify which exams you need to pass? It will make a BIG difference!

    MD Candidate: 10/1/14

    FAR - 87 (11/23/14)
    REG - 87 (1/30/15)
    BEC - 89 (4/19/15)
    AUD - 98 (5/30/15)

    Ethics - 100

SORRY!!! I'm scatter brained. It's REG and FAR – nothing to do with BEC – already passed that one thank goodness.

If I were you, I would actually start studying FAR right now. There is five weeks until you can schedule the REG re-take and I don't think using those five weeks solely on REG is the best use of your time. I would target taking FAR on 4/30 and commit to a “standard” 8 week plan.

For REG, you have a base of knowledge that shouldn't simply disappear in five weeks. Schedule REG for 4/1 and when you get sick of FAR in the next month, go back to your weak areas of REG to review. It will definitely be intense, but that is how I would go about it if I were you. Studying FAR for only the four weeks in April won't be enough so you are going to need to double up somewhere.

So here's what I would do. Study FAR for about six weeks and take it somewhere like April 9th or 10th. Then study REG for the remainder of April and take towards the end of April.

The logic here is that you would need to allocate more time for FAR and take both sections right after studying.

The other option that could work is that you study for both simultaneously and test toward the end of the window. I'm not sure if I could do it this way but maybe you could.

I noticed your FAR scores and was wondering what you did to prepare for your retake? That's a huge jump up.

    REG - 79
    FAR - ?
    AUD - ?
    BEC - ?

    @ Allergic

You seem to have rebounded well from all of your re-takes – what did you do in the meantime? I don't think that I can take both of them towards the end of the window – there definitely needs to be some sort of segregation. My fear about taking REG second is that I'm afraid that I will forget the base of knowledge that I already have?

    Any thoughts?

I forgot to mention two points.

Not to insult your intelligence but since you seem to be freaking out, don't forgot to buy the NTS ASAP.

Also, try not to be panicking while studying/testing since that will be counter productive. I haven't had the threat of losing an exam but try your best to control your nerves. It's ok and healthy to freakout a couple of days but then get to it!

    @broag and @cpaorbust

I bribed someone to pas me on my retakes :).

My initial FAR score is misleading as I really didn't study for it and have updated my signature to clarify.

As to what I did different…

    1. So on my first takes I was lazy and only did the Wiley questions at the end of the modules. On the retakes I also used the test bank (that explains the 75 on REG).

    2. For those questions that I would get wrong, I would analyze why I got it wrong to identify my flawed logic or possible lack of knowledge. This was a tedious process but boy was it fruitful.

    3. I would panic at times during my testing and give in to the notion that the questions were very hard. I did away with this defeatist mentality and concentrated on the questions and applied my knowledge and logic.

    @CPAorbust

I guess you would know your short term memory best. If you think this is really an issue, then the alternative would be to study REG first for three weeks and get your feet wet with FAR for about a week. Review REG 2 to 3 days before your exam and take REG in early April.
