I transferred from an average state school to a top 5 undergraduate business school two years into college. My former gpa was above a 3.8. At my current school, my gpa could drop significantly in the first semester. I just got a C on a midterm, and I’ve been getting B’s on everything else. It is not uncommon for a transfers to drop a full point to a 2.8.

I have a big four internship next summer with one of the more competitive firms in my opinion. I want an offer and I’m

    afraid about this gpa.

What do you think? I think I can get my gpa above a 3.0 in the spring, but what do you think? Should I be really worried? What should I do? I’m clearly working as hard as I can.

Just work hard and hope for the best…your life won't be over if you don't go Big4 ASAP. The cool factor will probably wear off when they're sucking you bone dry and your entire life is WORK.

Enjoy college. It should be one of the best times in your life. Have fun. I don't think the cube at the office is as cool as parties, football, etc.

The best answer is start getting A's. If you could get a 3.8 at your former school you should be able to get at least a 3.5 here if you make school your #1 priority.

Our Firm typically won't even look at a resume with anything below 3.5 cumulative and accounting GPA.
