Hello Folks: I took my FAR exam today in California. My computer was operating normal while I was doing MCQs. When I started the Simulation it became painfully slow. It took almost 5 minutes to load up. Then I went through all 7 one by one to find out wich one is easier for me to do first and it took a while to go from one to the other. additionally while I was scrolling down on each of them, the screen became blurred at the top and I could not read it any more. I thought to myself if I complain to the staff while I am taking the test there is nothing they can do because it is a computer glitch and I will loose precious time and I was right. After the test I discussed it with the lady who checked me out and she confirmed it. She gave me 800-580-9648 and gave me site # and computer #. I indicated my complaints at the survey at the end of the test. PLEASE HELP ME, is there anything I can do to repeat the test if I failed it. Can I complain to the CA State Board of Accountancy. I almost lost 20 minutes of precious time of my Simulation part. Thanks.

I had a similar issue when I took FAR last year. Even in the MCQ it would take few seconds to load the question. I ended up passing, so I wasn't that pissed.

I would imagine if you put your complaint in writing and be nice about it that the testing center would allow you to retake it free of charge.

From what I understand, you are to report it within a few days. They will give you the option to retake next window at no charge (but without ever knowing if you passed or failed) or have the exam graded and pay for a new NTS if you did not pass. For me, never knowing would be torture.
