Memorize formulas if you haven't already - current ratio, quick ratio, inventory turnover, and receivables turnover are probably the most important ones, I think.
BEC is so broad - they test everything. I would think going back and focusing on a weak area might just help you pick up a point or 2.
whats the ratio of conceptual to calculations?
are hard questions weighted more?
plks any time management advice?
pls any suggestions for bec
Elsie,
I have the same questions. Unfortunately, I'm taking the exam at 8:30am. I'm getting to bed now. My plan is to get up early and just go over the formulas and read over IT again. I feel like I studied so much, but I don't feel very prepared. I think I feel like this before every exam, but this one seems a little different. I hate memorizing formulas. I passed the other three the first time with pretty good scores (Yaeger). I think this one just taps so many different parts of the brain. No matter what they say, they have to curve this against the performance of other candidates. Let's hope there are a lot of unprepared candidates (the ones who don't visit another71.com). Good luck. By the way, I think it's better to write out the formulas than just reading out of a book or reading someone else's formulas. I find it easier to visualize what I wrote on the index cards. Again, good luck to you...... I'm sure you'll do just fine. I'm just hoping for a 75.
thanks so much..............i bet you are in yr exam right now.................i pray for us that we pass.....................im sure you will do well (yaeger student)
starting to get very anxious over this exam... I don't feel prepared at all and I am taking it tomorrow am. I have done all the Yaeger questions and going over them again right now. Took a practice exam from Wiley's test bank and did not do well at all (66). Will start writing out the formulas on a sheet of paper this evening. BEC sucks! too many different topics! I feel that FAR is nothing compared to this.
I just posted some suggestions for someone in another thread. As far as ratio of calc's to concepts... no one can tell you for sure, but I had a lot less concepts than calc's. Remember that the the profession itself is relying heavily on CPA's ability to speak techy as auditors. So they do rely heavily on IT in the BEC exam. By this point, you should have a general understanding of it and be able to answer most of the questions they throw at you.
Good luck!!!!!
Here's my suggestions in the other thread:
