    Hi All,

JTF here. Some of you are familiar with my story. Today I recieved some bad news but promising. I got a 70 on BEC. After 5 times of taking this test, I am finally out of the sixties and into the 70’s. I am really dissapointed but at the same time, with the help of Becker and Jeff’s supplements, I feel like I am finally making progress. How far am I with a 70? It makes sense because after leaving the center, I felt as if I did the best I had done, but it wasnt enough to pass. I was a few more questions away from really feeling confident.

I am fully entrenched in Audit studies for the end of April using Becker, Wiley TB, and ninja materials and am thinking of trying to retake audit by the end of May.

Frustrating to say the least but I am improving so should i take that as a positive and channel to my studying for the future? Is this proof that I really CAN DO THIS?

Any advice from you guys would be great.

    JTF

Honestly, my advice is for you to not think about your score. I think you can't take a positive from a failing score. A 70 is like a 0. The only positive is that you actually understand BEC. Now work multiple choice until you throw up. Seriously you have to feel sick. I gurantee a pass if you do the wiley questions twice and understand your mistakes……I GUARNTEE IT

    Good Luck

My only advice would be to stick with one exam until you pass it. I think AUD by the end of May is perfectly do-able but where you've just put so much effort into BEC, it seems more logical to continue on with that subject matter than go back and forth between AUD and BEC.

Of course you can do this, many a CPA has been in your frustrating shoes but gone on to pass all 4, you will join them!

    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

@Amal- i think u confused me with someone else, im not from RI!!

Obviously the subject line should have been failing not passing. I appreciate the feedback. I just feel more amped up and ready to go then anything else. Getting the 70 gives me the fuel to push forward. I know I can do this I just need to put a little bit more time in and keep going. This has been a long struggle for me and to finally get a 70 although it sounds dumb, it's a step in the right direction for me to passing this thing

Any advice people have would be great

@mla- I have thought about this. I am a month into auditing studying and with Becker really feel like I am finally grasping the subjects. I am thinking I should stick with it until I pass rather than keep going back and forth. U agree?

Your clock doesn't start until you pass your first exam. No harm in sticking with it until you get it.

I JUST passed my first exam on my first try. In some ways, I wish I had failed. This exam is no joke, but while waiting to hear my score, I didn't study for my next section. I told my family and friends that I passed my first test, and they all wanted to celebrate. It is hard to describe how difficult this challenge is to those who haven't seen the material. Had I failed, there would be less pressure to pass the other three on my first go. It would also be easier to get motivated to resume the course.

Both sides have their own merit, but now pride kicks in. We can't start something and not finish it.

I think for me failing Auditing, which was the 2nd exam I ever took was rewarding in the long run. I really focused after that. I was so heartbroken when I got the grade that instead of laying down and folding, it pushed me harder. I actually squeezed in 3 exams in the Jan/Feb testing window(AUD retake, REG first time, BEC first time) and I passed all 3.

I love seeing people on here who are getting 60s and yet they are still going. And my circumstance is completely different than others here. Im a recent college grad. So I had 24 hours a day to study for the exam. Others have spouses, full time jobs, kids and other obligations. I had just these exams and I still managed to get a 69 in Auditing. Overall I think Auditing is a gamble. I think its more about just taking it again and again until you pass.

I know you wanted a 75 in BEC, but remember these exams are some of the hardest exams in the country. The passing rate for an exam is only 40%. You seem like you know what you're doing. Just keeping taking two exams every testing window, BEC and Audit. You'll get both soon.
