Posting Questions From Review Vendors

    Hello Everyone,

I am in Becker’s Review courses, and I come across questions every now and then based upon some of their teaching or MCQ explanations. However, I am a bit concerned about the intellectual property rights of the company, so it seems important to ask how to post such questions before doing so. The question isn’t just pertinent to Becker, though. The same concern could be expressed over any review company. So what guidelines might I observe when posting info on such information?

Additionally, since the review company questions are drawn from a pool of questions developed by the AICPA, a few more concerns pop up. For instance, we aren’t allowed to talk about stuff we see on the exams, yet questions must be released to the review vendors at some point under some form or another, so candidates can prepare by using them. So, if they are “released” for candidates to review, then can we talk about them?

Another final concern would be, if MCQ questions are “released” by the AICPA, then do they exist somehow in the public domain? Or – and this is a long-shot – could you even call the AICPA and get the question pool for free?

I’m making a lot of assumptions there, I know, but it seems somehow the review companies must get some kind of permission to address at least some of the questions in the question pool. So how would such a thing occur? And would the general public (as opposed to specific review vendors) have access to those questions? And, if we have access, then shouldn’t such questions exist within the public domain somehow?

    Ty.
