So a little background, I am currently an Internal Auditor for a mid sized public company and just recently passed all 4 CPA exams. Right now my company is going through the process of switching to using SAP and there have been job openings along with this. The job I am looking at applying to would help in the training and implementation of SAP within the company. I see this as an obvious advantage to take on such a job. I would gain extensive knowledge about a system thousands of companies around the world would use. Can anyone else see any negatives to taking this type of job. I would be out of the accounting the world for a few years, but I would still be involved in how it is being used. Just wanted to hear others thoughts as well as where this job could take me.

The biggest negative that I see is that it's a very temporary job. The better you do your job and the sooner everyone gets trained, the sooner you get to visit the unemployment office.

But…if the risk of being unemployed once this assignment is complete is something that you can be OK with, then it does sound exciting.
