Let's get going.....my plan is to finish as many lectures as I can by Friday. Friday, I need to move onto MCQs, since my FAR exam is fast approaching.

What's everyone else's plan?

Morning!

I am going to listen to the last hour of my Roger cram. And then get thru three chapters in the Wiley Review book and sims, and then over the weekend finish the last three chapters. A big fish to fry for sure, but going to work 8 hour days Mon-Fri. Need to make up some time. I am in the same boat, my exam is coming up on the 23rd!

Thanks for getting a new thread started-I soooo need the push! (audit is not the most exciting :)

My goal is to get 5-6 hours in a day and then 15-20 on the weekend. I have about 1600 MCQ's I want to get through this week....I doubt it will happen but if it does then I will be done with the Gleim MCQ's and can move on to Wiley Test Bank. But realistically 1600 seems more than I can take on so if I can get a good 1000 done I will be okay.

My goal is to get 10-15 hours in before Friday and 10-12 hours of review this weekend. Here is what I would like to get done before Friday:
*45 minutes remaining of A5 lecture
*Remaining 80% of A5 HW
*2nd time through atleast half of A3

I am horrible about studying after work, but I really need to stay on track this week because my exam is 11 days away! and I am only 55% to my target of 90 study hours for audit. Hopefully posting on here will help me stay motivated to put in a good 2-3 hours each weekday. Good Luck everyone!!!

Alright! Back to a fresh new week!
Ok I would like to get in 20 hours, split up between 2 chapters of BEC - reading textbook, writing over NINJA notes, reviewing flashcards and doing mcqs.
Don't know yet about the weekend. I guess it depends on what I actually get done this week :)

I took the week off work so I can study. I'm feeling a bit ambitious, looking to get 50+ hours in by Friday night and then another 15 or so over the weekend. I had my wife hide the remote for the TV, so really now there is nothing to do but study.

I'm shooting for 20 hours by Friday and an additional 16 over the weekend.

The plan is to finish listening to all lectures and taking notes by Saturday and start attacking quizzes Sat/Sun. I have about 25 hours of lecture left, so it'll be a loooong week. No Bears game for this little lady :(

hi Jomarie and all,

Thank you so much for continuing the power 20 week. I didn't respond anything for the past 2 weeks, as I was in the panic mode. (actually, still I am... and I feel like I don't remember anything).

Anyway, it is so great to see the support to each other. We all need this to get through this exam. Keep up the good work. I am planning to do 30 hours this week. Hoping the hours I put in would be more productive. Good Luck.

I didn't get much done at all last night. My older daughter gave me a hard time to go to bed and once she was asleep my 18 month old woke up screaming!!!! DAMN TEETH!!! Gave her some Tylonel but once she calm down it was 12:30am. Oh well today's another day.

@yankee, For some reason, since I've started this CPA journey, I fell even more in love with the movie. I already loved it since I live in my cube and have a printer that jams incessantly. One day I will take a bat to that darn thing!

Last night was a success (aside from missing my Bears). I knocked out 4 1/2 hours of lectures. I'm hoping to get through 6 more today. Happy Tuesday all!

This has been going on and off with the teeth for a few weeks now. She's getting her eye teeth and I think she's getting two of them at once. I tired working on MCQs while I had her cuddle in my lap but that didn't work. So her and I watched Dancing with the Stars that I DVRed. The music from the show calmed her down.

@jomarie, hang in there. You have no idea how much I admire people like you who are attacking the CPA while raising a family. I'm not a mother and I can't imagine having to be responsible for other tiny humans especially since there are times when I forget to feed myself, let alone anyone else!

Those days are tough. My youngest was always tougher on medical type issues. He would just belt out crying (I most often had the crap scared out of me, because the screaming/crying was so loud I was convinced he was deathly ill) and it was so hard to console him. And he was a night owl to boot (ok, I have used that word twice here today! got REG on the brain), so relief came later. Tylenol helped me out of alot of jams. I hope that will work for you tonight! If nothing else, watch DWTS again!

I have about 10 episodes DVRed so I'm equiped to go!! I might just have to set up my laptop on the coffee table next to me so I can rock her as well. Maybe I'll try something harder like Advil or Mortin. I don't think the Tylenol is doing the trick. I gave her the Tylenol at like 10 and she was still up at 12.

So how's everyone's week going? I was able to put in a good 2 hours last night, studied about 1/2 hour during lunch yesterday, and listened to Yaeger's audio lectures to and from work.

Well I almost got thru Module 4 in the Wiley review book, so today I have to kick it and finish up mod 5 too. Probably about 200 mcq's. That takes me awhile since I take notes. I am shooting for 7 hours.

@pacific I'm sorry to hear about your friend's dad passing. It's great that they have a friend like you for support.

Last night's studies went pretty well. I chalked up another 4 hours of lecture. I busted my ankle so I called the studies off for a while to medicate. Nothing too bad just a sore, swollen ankle though it hurt like help last night! I'm hoping for 5 hours tonight.

Of course that doesn't mean that I actually learned anything, because I feel like the new stuff pushes the old stuff out.

I hate FAR.

I felt the same way about FAR. By the time I finished I barely remembered what I studied in the beginning. I guess that's why it's so important to go through things again and do mcqs over and over again. You're putting in many hours a day - wow!

@ Acct - Brooklynn (my 18 month old) is better. She's going to the doctor tomorrow for her 18 month check up so I'll talk to him and see if it's her teeth or this cold she's been fighting for the past few weeks.

@yankee - I didn't have to take out the DWTS yet, but if I do I know it'll calm her down now.

So far today I've done about 10 MCQs and sims this morning and listened to some Yeager's audio lectures this morning on my way into the office. So about 1 1/2 hours total of study time so far.

Hubby's coming home tonight so give me a break with the girls. I had another meltdown last night so he said he'll come home to help me out a bit.

@Acct & jomarie, Thanks, it's still pretty darn sore today but I took some ibuprofen and am keeping it elevated. I'm hoping the rest of the day is not too awful at work so I can go home and spend some quality time with business law... Yes, work has been so awful that I actually look forward to my REG studies during my lunch and evenings. Ugh.

I had a great Monday, and got in 2.5 quality hours. However, yesterday I was so exhausted that I passed out at 8! so I was only able to get in 1.5 (I was pretty upset with myself this morning, but I obviously needed the rest). I really dont know why I get so tired - the past two exams and the 9/15, 10/15 and now 11/15 deadline must be starting to take its toll on me. I have soooo much respect for those of you doing this whole thing while working AND raising children!! I just think that is so amazing! I feel much more rested today, so I am hoping to get in another 2.5 hours when I get home from work.

Does anyone else keep track of their study hours?? If so, do you recall how many (quuality) hours you put in for Audit?

For me, I got in about 7.00 hours today. Disappointed by the number of mcq's I got done. Seems like it is such a slow go for me. I take notes on what I don't get correct so that takes extra time, but reading the question takes time, I probably read the question at least twice (including all the answers) before I choose. UGH. Only 14 days left so........tomorrow is another day!

Yeah, I'm kind of forced into it because of the week off I took after AUD, and this is FAR after all, did I mention I hate it? I don't like taking two in the same window with kids and working, this blows.

But I have a productivity report for today...watched 9 videos and took ~50 pages of notes, I seriously have an indent on my right middle finger from my favorite pencil. 10 hours so far. Starting to go through it all quick and I'm gonna review just 10 Wiley TB's quizes for each Mod now (just so I can say I reviewed something, and to force me to look at my notes again), hope to be done by midnight, so that'll give me about 11 today. Just an FYI for everyone out there, this is what procrastinator's have to do...

I don't know this one's gonna be close...I have 18 hours of video left (At Mod 18 in Wiley) and have only done about 200 mcq's so far.

I skipped Mod 16 today, Investments...My gawd...I wanted Phil to zip it and have Cindy teach it to me...I think she grew on me a bit from Mod 9, lol. Really though, Phil seemed all over the place...I was in my 8th hour and was like wtf! Just take your Propel, go back to your office, and give Cindy the marker!

20 days left, I gotta shut up and get back to work :)

I used the Yaeger cram for FAR. That was the ticket....taking crazy notes, reading the book. I remember ......I know your pain. I agree, Phil is all over the place, and I kept thinking give Cindy the mic. In fact, it kinda looked like to me that Cindy wanted him to go also! BTW I got the Yaeger cram for REG and I didn't really like it. It was all Phil and he seemed so disjointed to me. I had a hard time following him. Good luck!! And kick some FAR butt!

Anyway, I am going to try and channel a bit of you today and try and hit eight hours. Audit for me is the worst. It is an evil exam.

Ok, my promise for the day: get through the last 24 mcq on Module 5 and do all the mcq's in 6, 7, and 8. Take notes on incorrect questions, and do progress tests for each chapter in Becker to see how I am doing. Then a Wiley exam!! That's alot, but going for it. I hope everybody has a great day today---the window is coming to an end quickly--time to kick some butt! Let's do it!!

@yankee - Today is Brooklynn's doctor appt. I'm glad it is so I can get out of work early. I'm leaving at 3...woohoo!!! Anyways, my husband was able to leave work early yesterday and came home. It was nice, we were able to have a nice family dinner together. Something we haven't been able to do in a LONG time with our crazy schedules. Also he was able to help me with the girls, which was huge!! I did get in some study time after the kids went to bed.

I did find out that my husband is going to switching job sites again, as early as next week, and will be able to come home every night. I'm really looking forward to that.

Anyways, I haven't been able to get some questions in this morning. I slept in a little, but I think I needed it cause I feel like I'm coming down with a cold.

Today I'm planning on working on MCQs whenever a have a moment to spare at work and with me coming home earlier hopefully my evening will run a little smoother.

@yankee, that avatars was just for you :) I've been itching to drop the books and watch office space but I'm putting that off until I have more time on my hands.

Last night was a failure study-wise for me. I only got in about 2 hours of lecture since I slept in because of the excedrin PM I took for the ankle Tuesday night, then I was beyond swamped at work so no lunch studies, I got in a little on the commute to/from work but not much else. My parents were in a car accident last night so I was a ball of nerves til the police drove them home. The car is totaled but thankfully they're both completely unharmed aside from the shock of the accident. My time will probably have to be split today going over police report and dealing with insurance. The other driver was at fault and his insurance was no longer valid.... Ugh. Thank God my parents weren't hurt! I don't know what I'd do if that were the case!

Anyway today's goal will be 5 hours... I'm taking a lunch if it kills me!

KasiaS - Glad to know that your parents are ok and were not hurt. I got little study in last night as well. I took a test on Wiley during lunch yesterday and did about an hour when I got home but that was it. I got to really study today.

Jomarie - I know that you are definitely happy for some relief due to your husband's schedule change.. More time for the books I guess (lol). I hope Brooklyn's doctor appt goes well.

Kasia - sorry to hear about your parents, I am glad they weren't hurt but now unfortunately it sounds like you have some work to do!

Yes I'm glad the hubby will be home at night. I don't know how I've balanced everything. Maybe that's why I've been having meltdowns, I'm at my limit I guess. My older daughter has been also having sleep issues which hasn't helped me much either. But I'm thinking it's all connected to hubby not being home during the week. Now that he's changing job sites he'll maybe at most stay away from home 2 nights a week, but they won't be back to back. He did promise me that the first 2 weeks he'll be coming home everynight, which is HUGE since my exam is in 2 weeks.

I'm sorry to hear about the accident, but I'm glad your parents are ok! It must have been so scary for you...

Thanks everyone! I'm thankful that they came out of it unscathed and that the court date is on Dec. 23 and not before Thanksgiving! I'm just worried that this is going to be a bigger pain since the other driver is basically uninsured and he was driving a company vehicle (landscaper). Since my parents' English isn't the best, I'll have to play lawyer/translator during this ordeal. I have my work cut out for me but hopefully there won't be too much for me to deal with in the next 2 weeks.

So sorry to hear about your parents accident. Glad they are ok. I totally understand the translator position...my family is from Argentina. So, I am the point person calling on insurance, Comcast (yes!), Medicare and the like. My Mom feels self conscious about her accent and her english, so she would rather I call for her. Anyway, still a tough situation. Hopefully the landscaper had car insurance on his company vehicle.

BTW, thank you, thank you for the avatar. I am going to put that movie on my list of movies to watch after I finish Audit. There are so many good laughs in that movie. :)

I'm Happy I did so much recently, but I think I have to write this test off.

lol, not sure that is the right journal entry. Basically, anyone with kids, married, and outside resposibilities knows what I mean. I don't want to get into it, but my better half didn't know (although I said countless times) that I have to pass by 2/23/12. She took it as "why is it so important to do it now?" As in, "why do you have to take it in November?."

Looks like two tests next window again, but at least I have a base down.

Communication factor of a marriage just settled this. My marriage > FAR.

I'm still going to sit for it, why not right? At least I know what's at stake going into my last window. I just have to make sure to communicate it to my wife, most importantly the job ahead of me.

Too many things on the homefront to get into. I guess I'm your typical male, expecting my wife to read my mind...
Zero hours today, I have responsibilities as a parent and husband instead.
