Ok who's in with me on Turkey week? It's going to be a extremely busy week. Between being a 3 day work week, 2 girls in my office on vacation, Turkey Day, and my exam on Friday, I hope I don't pull all my hair out!! Anyways, happy studying and Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

I'm in!! FAR on the 28th. I also have a 3 day work week and several people on vacation in my office but it should be pretty slow since we're not at month end. Hope to get a lot of Wiley testbank questions in.

I'm down! Working from home 5:30-2:00 and studying until I pass out Mon-Wed then all day Thursday and Friday, and showdown is on Sat morning!! This is going to be a painful week but I'm looking forward to getting it behind me. I'm scheduling the couples massage for Saturday afternoon!!!

This week is not starting off good. I slept about 2 hours last night, my little one was up most of the night. Those dang teeth still haven't broke through. It's going to be a LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG week if she doesn't sleep again tonight.

@Jomarie, have you tried Hyland's teething tablets? They worked wonders with my daughter when she was teething, there is something in there that is calming for them (all natural products). You can get them at your local drug store like walgreens, cvs, or riteaid.

I myself originally had audit scheduled for tomorrow but stalked prometric and was lucky enough to get it rescheduled for the 30th when someone decided to cancel or reschedule. This is my third time facing audit and felt I wasn't quite ready.

I only work today and tomorrow but it should be slow enough to get some studying in and then I have the rest of the week off. I have plans to send my daughter to friends for playdates to get power studying in this weekend (hmm, maybe I should arrange playdates for hubby too so he will leave me alone this weekend, between LSU and Saints games it gets loud around here). I have to take a study break on Monday and go in to work to do payroll (work in private accounting) but I am then off Tuesday to do my day of mini testlets all day, then the battle begins!!

I am in for tonight!!!!! My showdown is tomorrow morning @ 8am. I was to run through the AICPA MCQs, and run through the Ninja Notes one last time. Probably about 3-4 hours and then I am calling it quits. At that point, I either know it or not. lol.. Good Luck to everyone on you exams!!!!! and KasiaS, I am going to wearing some red undies too.. LOL

I agree with you definitely on the Tax portion. I am sure you are going to slam REG and achieve a passing score. Then you will be completely done. I see an 80+ in your future.

hmmmmm....maybe I take a trip to the mall for red panties. I am not Polish, but Italian and Spanish, if I want to get technical Irish by marriage, BUT I think on Wednesday (exam day), it might be smart to be sporting some red panties too :)

I think I've gotten at least 4 people to take part in this: Peanut, iPass, Revenue, NailCPA, and now MyLifeisCPA! With you, it'll be a nice, round 5.

My studies today are inching forward. I was doing good until I literally fell asleep while reviewing, book in hand and all! I got in only about 3 hours so far and plan on getting in about 4 more before calling it quits. Happy Studies everyone and good luck tomorrow @mylifeiscpa!!!!

I put in a good 4 hours. My scores where I wanted them (of course they could always be higher), today is last chance day, going to go over weak areas working about 10 hours today. And have to go to the mall: getting my red panties--seriously, I am!!!

I am pulling for your passing score JoMarie, as I am sure many people are!

I told my hubby to call me during his lunch hour and he said he almost forgot to. When I noticed he didn't call I texted his co-worker and told him to tell him. I guess everyone was excitied at his job site!!

Then when I picked the girls up from daycare, I tried to act sad when I saw Jackie and said "well Jackie remember what you said last night about Mommy's test"....she said she thought I failed again...."well.....YOU WERE WRONG!!!!" and she gave me a big hug and her daycare teachers were laughing so hard.

How is everyone doing this week so far? The last few days have been tough on my studying which I knew was going to be the issue, I had a colonoscopy on Monday so Sunday and Monday morning was all the fun prep and then Monday night I was worth nothing but it is done with and now I can focus on studying. I do have to cook Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow night, I have never cooked one before so a little nervous about that. My mom normally cooks but she has hurt her leg and cannot stand that long so she asked if I could fill in and as much as I didn't want to I couldn't let her down. So tomorrow will be interesting, I told her I was going to be bringing my laptop with me so I can study whenever I can and after dinner when everyone else is having fun playing Bingo I will head to the room and kick out more mcq's. I cannot wait until the 30th so I can stop (hopefully) studying FAR...I so hate this section!

My review is going OK so far. I'm not as far as I want to be but I'm hoping to finish the review tomorrow night and do nothing but MCQs all day Friday in preparation for Saturday's showdown. I just finished work, so I'll probably try to get in a good 10 hours today.

It's been a painfully long day! I got in about 8 hours today and made decent progress, although I wish I got more accomplished. It's slow going for one and the other, bigger reason is that my attention span is that of a goldfish when it comes to studying REG. I've been studying with earplugs in just so that the fridge, heating, clock, etc. noises wouldn't catch my attention.

When I took them out to be somewhat social during dinner with my parents, I swear I became fascinated with the tick-tock of the clock for a good 15 seconds. I plan on covering property transactions before passing out then tomorrow is an all day coporate, partnership, estate, and trust tax marathon!!! Yay me.

Got to vent a drop.
I'm so tired and every night after work or college I have such good intentions of studying x amount but somehow I don't get that amount done and then it gets late and I tell myself I should get some rest so I'll have the energy to stay up late the next night, but I'm tired then, too!
Ok. I'm going to study now and hope I don't fall asleep over the book :)

Thanks for listening. I was trying to tell this to someone else, but it's not the same - venting to someone who doesn't really know what this is all about...

@Acct - I am sorry to hear you are getting so tired, I do strongly believe though that you do have to take care of yourself or else you are more susceptible to getting sick so please try to get rest if your body is telling you need it. :)

@acct - Thanks for asking. I may have found the trick with the teething. I've been giving her Infant Advil about 20 minutes before bed and that's been helping. Plus I bought a vaporizer for her room. She's been fighting this cold for about a month (I did have her checked out at the doctor's and he said it's viral, just needs to run it's course), and I think the vaporizer plus me rubbing baby rub on her chest and feet has been helping.

Now I've been having sleep issues again with my older one, ugh it never ends. I just came home from dropping them off at the daycare (I'll explain in a minute why the daycare is open on Thanksgiving) and her teacher was telling me about how she was acting up yesterday, not listening and stuff. Last night I didn't get any studying done again because she wasn't listening and not going to bed. I ended up laying with her and falling asleep, with NINJA notes in hand.

Back to my note about the daycare being open today. Well I live in Canada, but work in the States. I live about 20 minutes away from the border in Ontario. So today it's a regular work and school day here. So since my little one is at daycare, older one is at school, and hubby is at work, I'm taking full advantage of a empty house. I convinced my Dad, who lives in the states, to come over for Thanksgiving dinner around 3:30 or 4 o'clock. I figured at that time, I can go pick the girls up while he keeps on eye on my Turkey and then have dinner ready by the time my hubby gets home.

I'm in for a full day of power studying - shooting for 12 hours today. My family is being awesome and leaving me completely alone. All that's required of me is a mandatory appearance at the dinner table. Here I go...

@JoMarie, I have a question for you. I am going to be sitting for FAR on Tuesday, I am thinking I will barely cover all the material once but not have time to do a good review....before you sit tomorrow for FAR will you have covered all the material by doing all the mcq's? I have Gleim and Wiley online and to do all the mcq's for them both is over 3500 mcq's...I don't think I will be able to cover all of that at all and I am starting to get worried.

That is one of the issues I have with FAR, there is just so much material and so hard to get it all covered without forgetting stuff. I do think doing more studying right before the exam is better with this section because in the past I have given myself 8 weeks to study and before the test day I forgotten the stuff in the beginning.

I've been doing mini tests....20 MCQs and 2 sims.....so far on the first one I've scored a 65.....not bad, I don't think. This way I can see my weaknesses and tonight and tomorrow morning I can go to Jeff's NINJA notes and look at my weak points.

I had a rough start this morning with everything that's going on with my daughter so I had a late start getting into the studying mode and now I'm in the studying mode but I'm also in the I can't stop eating mode as well. Oh well, have to pick and choose my battles.

I'm a little all over the place... first test I took this morning on Ind. Taxation, I got 60% and the next one I took I got 100% Then I scored 83% and 86% on preparer responsibilities and liabilities. I really need to hammer tax in because I keep losing track of facts and numbers... confusing proofs and defenses between common law, Sec Act of 1933, and Sec Exch Act of 1934.

Corp Taxation will be the death of me. I'm relistening to the lectures because I feel like it's been years since I've touched this material (it really was 2 weeks ago). Corp Tax is definitely my weakness. Less than 2 days! I refuse to reschedule. I just have to know enough to eke out a 75. That is it.

I just scored a 85 on another one. Off to do another mini test, but first I need to throw the turkey in the oven.

I just scored a 64 on another one....:(....MCQs were a little harder but I'm nailing the sims......on both I scored 100% on sims, go figure!!
