    @jomarie – I hope you enjoyed your weekend off. I think since you have over a month if it were me I would spend a week watching lectures, maybe watch the sections you are weaker on if you don't have time to watch them all. Then I would hit the MCQ's for two weeks and then final review the last week. Of course, I certainly not one who should really talk as I haven't passed this section before but that would be how I would tackle it. 🙂

    This week is going to be a good study week for me, my husband is out of town this week so I have the house all to myself so that will be less distracting. I am also going to take Friday off work, I just need a mental health day away from work. This week my goal is to go through my weaker areas and really focus on the concepts and covering the material I think if I can get a good grasp on those this week the last two weeks will just be doing MCQ covering all the material and SIMS until I am blue in the face. 🙂

    I hope all had a wonderful weekend and we are ready to face a Power week. 🙂 🙂

    Good morning ladies! I have 2.5 hours of lectures left to do. I am going to finish those today and then rewrite the NINJA guide this week. Then it is multiple choice questions until the end! I have FAR scheduled for 1/16 but was thinking of moving it until 1/31. I am just nervous with the holidays mixed in that my weekends are shot those two weeks. However I was going to take my 6th (ahhhhh) stab at BEC in February and not tell anyone at work god forbid i fail once again.

    I'm debating whether or not to schedule BEC for Feb. Since I'm sitting for FAR on the 17th of January, it doesn't really give me a whole lot of time to prepare for BEC before we get really crazy at work with tax season. My NTS expires April 26th for BEC.

    @jomarie

    When does it begin to get really busy in your office? Can you schedule the exam for the end of Feb and have 5-6 weeks to study?

    Or schedule it for the end of April and study before busy season, then a little bit steadily during tax season until after 4/15 and then study study study until your exam?

    What do you feel will be easier for you study-wise?

    This is a great week for me. Tomorrow, Tuesday, I take my final exam in my last class needed to sit for the CPA Exam. Wednesday I will start full combat mode against AUD and full review mode with FAR.

    Tomorrow is possibly my last class that I need as part of the 6 credits on missing to be licensed as a CPA…my state coordinator wouldn't tell me if the 2 classes I'm taking now will count. I'll just have to find out when I send out my transcript…

    Hey everyone,

    I need some advice. I'm starting my re-study for FAR today and am planning on following the NINJA plan of attack but, I'm a little confused. In regards to watching all videos before reading the chapters and taking notes, does Jeff mean to watch all videos for F1-F9 or just all the videos for F1 before reading, notes, and MC? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    @Acct – It actually starts getting crazy early to mid February. Especially since I mainly do Corporate returns that are due March 15th. February to March 15th I go non-stop. Plus my boss asked me to work a bit more this year (at the office anyways). I guess I can try to squeeze it in before February 15th. Last time I took it and passed was in the beginning of February. I guess I should just worry about FAR right now then worry about BEC….LOL

    @ Jomarie – I am in. I am going to try to put in about 20 hours this week on AUD. I am planning to take AUD on 01/22 or 1/29. I have not scheduled it yet though. Also your NTS doesn't epire until April so there is always time after your busy season to complete BEC. We will have a good month and some days after busy season to knock out BEC. Unless you want to have it done then I say go for it.

    BEC-Passed
    AUD-Passed
    REG-Passed
    FAR-Passed (I AM DONE!!! THANK U LORD!!!!)

    I guess one thing at a time makes sense. You can see how things are when you're done with FAR, and it might make more sense to do BEC after tax season if it's going to be so busy. But there's time to see how things go, you can always change your mind either way.

    Yeah I was just looking at the schedule for my prometric center and they are pretty open right now, but things can change. I'll see how I feel.

    Right now I'm going to concentrate on Non-for-profits and Governmental Accounting since that seems what killed me on FAR two weeks ago. Going to start with lectures since I'm home unexpectedly today. My older daughter's not feeling well today, so we are staying home. I still brought my younger one to daycare since she seems to bore easy at home.

    @ACCT,

    I am hoping to hear the good news soon!!!

    @Cpahopefultx,

    I thought he was advocating all videos/lectures first. That is my approach for Audit. Getting back to the basics, as slow as it seems, I am hoping to pick up nuances I missed (the other 3 times–haha!).

    @JoMarie,

    That does seem like a tight schedule, but sometimes, I feel like I perform better knowing I have a very specific timeline, that busyness keeps me on task better. I feel like when I add too much time to the study process, I end up not having as much quality time , or I am less effective. That being said, you will have plenty of time to see how it goes. And remember, getting a testing time is easier because alot of people bow out because of busy season, so waiting might just be your best bet. Focus on BEC knock it out, and then make your decision on FAR. Good luck.

    @jomarie – I assume you had watched the lecture from your first try. If I were you, I would review the note/hightlighted material, compile your own note, and do MCQ twice. Then review your own note couple time prior to sitting for the exam.

    As for scheduling for BEC, I think it's better to spread out your exam a bit, so you have time to study. It's going to be really tight with FAR in Jan 17, then BEC (presumably at the end of Feb), and work FT (with tax season right around the corner). Best of luck to you whichever way you decide.

    BEC 11/10 - 77
    REG 11/10 - 66, 8/11 - 84
    AUD 4/11 - 86
    FAR 4/11 - 67, 11/11 - 83

    All I can say is….what a day!!! Well I did get about 4 hours of study time in today since my older daughter stayed home from school today. Then my dishwasher broke, ugh!!!! Out of all things to break!!! Well there was a glass that broke in it, my husband was able to clean it out but now it's like there's no power to it. Repair guy is coming this Saturday to take a look at it. I'm hoping it's something small and I don't need to be shopping for a new dishwasher.
