Pre-Test Scores?

I was just wondering what you guys were scoring when doing your multiple choice questions before taking BEC? Right now, I am using Becker and Wiley TB, scoring anywhere between 65%-85%, depending on the range of topics i am selecting overall. On one of the practice Becker exams I didn’t do so well on the multiple choice questions (Does Becker truly replicate the exam in the sense that if you do well on the first testlet, the next one will be harder?). I am starting to get a little nervous, as my exam is coming up on Tuesday.

I am going to do the second exam tomorrow, and hopefully i will come away with a better score and boost my morale. But after reading some of the comments about how Becker wasn’t great in preparing you for BEC, I think i just rattled my cage more.

    FAR - 68, 82
    AUD - 78
    REG - 57, 67, 11/24/14
    BEC - 81

Becker does not replicate the exam in that sense. Everyone who uses Becker takes the same practice exams. BEC is really a crapshoot. Some people will say Becker prepared them well. Some people will say it was awful. All depends on the questions you're asked. If you're also using WTB, you will be better prepared. People tend to perform better on the actual exam than the Becker practice exams by anywhere from 10-20 points, although it can be hard to grade the practice exams with the WC for BEC. If you can score 75% on the practice exam MCQs, I'd say you're in good shape.

A better question would be – what was his study plan? 🙂

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

barelystayingsane – What was your study plan? Specifically, not to waste too much of your time, as it is all precious in review, did you take notes? Did you do multiple choice? What order did you watch videos and do questions in? Finally, what was it that helped you the most?

    tough_kitty – Thanks Tough_KItty

I just decided to create a new thread since I got a couple questions about my study plan: https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/barelys-study-plan. Feel free to post any questions there!
