Prometric went down in the middle of my REG exam…

I was through testlet 2, and all of a sudden my screen just went blank and the prometric emblem popped up. I started to freak out a little, and I looked around and everybody was standing up walking toward the exit as well. They worked on the system for like an hour, and then they started calling people back one at a time to see if they could get their test to come back up. They got a few non-CPA people back up and running but myself and one other guy taking AUD have to reschedule.

Does anyone know the rules on this as far as if NASBA will let me reschedule? I know prometric will, but if it shows in their system that I have already taken the exam, I wasn’t sure if NASBA would still let me retake in the same window. I tried calling NASBA already, but they are closed for Veteran’s Day. I studied REG for 13 weeks already, and I really don’t want to have to wait for 2 more months trying to retain everything.

    AUD - 2/2013 - Passed!
    BEC - 5/2013 - Passed!
    FAR - 8/2013 - Passed!
    REG - 11/2013 - Passed!

Make sure you call NASBA because from people I have known that had issues and had to reschedule, NASBA had to issue a new NTS for you to be able to retest. And also you want to let them know what happened as well because on their end they might show that you showed up for the test. Good luck. Hopefully you wont have to wait till January to retake.

    AUD - NINJA in Training
    BEC - NINJA in Training
    FAR - NINJA in Training
    REG - NINJA in Training
    AUD - 1/6/18
    FAR - TBD
    REG - TBD
    BEC - TBD

    AUD - 73, 72 retake 7/2/2016
    BEC - 8/20/2016
    REG - TBD
    FAR - TBD

I am so ready for this nightmare to be over. Been at this way too long.

I just wanted to give an update in case this happens to anyone else, so you will know what to expect. Prometric contacted me both by email and phone by the end of the day yesterday, and assured me I would be able to reschedule as early as today. I called them this morning and was able to get a new appointment as early as tomorrow morning. Not that I am happy about having to start the test again from scratch, but if this happens to you don't freak out prometric will take very good care of you.

Well good luck with the test. You should be able to do good with testlet 1 and testlet 2…lol

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

OH WOW. I'm sorry this happened to you too. I took REG and finished all multiple choice then went on a break before SIM. Guess what, it crashed on me after my break. They tried to “fix” it but made me reschedule in the end to retake the whole 3 hr darn thing. I mean at least let us begin where we left off.. I got a 56 without the simulations, so I'd probably passed if the thing didn't crash.

I ended up failing the retake (obviously it's not an easy test..) and passed on the “3.5th” try. All it really is = s*** happens.

Sorry, bro. Hope you will have it made on the reschedule!

This happened to me today! I'm glad you posted your update because I haven't heard from NASBA yet.

I was struggling during my exam, so I'm hoping it is a blessing in disguise.

    Passed all sections.

I took my REG exam this past weekend, and after finishing the AICPA survey my screen went blank (all white screen). Has this happened to anyone before?

I told the Prometric guy, and he restarted the computer, and had me re-enter my launch code. After that it went to the Prometric emblem. He said this happens sometimes, and that I shouldn't worry about my score not going through because the system wouldn't let me check out if it didn't.

I guess I'll find out score release day if I have a big fat “0”.

@DiscoStu you're definitely fine, especially if you completed the survey. I've had it where the survey didn't even come up.

    AUD: 84
    REG: 84
    BEC: 79
    FAR: 83
