Prometric White Boards

    Hi everyone,

I wanted to know if, during testing, you are allowed to get another whiteboard/laminated sheet if you run out of room. Or, can I ask for a tissue or something? Do I get up for the tissue or can I ask during the “full body check” for a tissue to erase?

I didn’t think to ask during my BEC exam, and didn’t need to erase anyway as I didn’t’ run out of room. But, I have a feeling during my FAR exam (scheduled for this coming Tuesday 5/31) I will run out of room.

    Thanks everyone.

    Jen

You have to walk to the desk of the person who checked you in and swap them out for blank ones.

DO NOT smear or erase anything on the ones you are turning in. I don't know the consequences of this but someone in my test center did that and they went off on the guy about how it was not allowed. At best they just !&^%&%# at you but at worst they consider it cheating by default and you get disqualified.

@Texan_176 Yikes, cheating just for erasing? That does seem a bit extreme. But, good to know. Granted, I thought that I would need to just make due with what I was given, which also seems harsh. When I took the exam before in 2010, I remember getting paper and pencil and TOLD that was all I would be given. So, I just assumed the same would be true of the dry erase.

@jcf175 Yep, I think I will ask for extra upon check-in and see what they say. Worst case will be having to get up during the testing and ask for more sheets.

What would be great is if the Excel function in the test was actually useful. That would be super amazing. I can't believe it is so useless. Talk about saving money on paper if that just worked.

Ok, thanks for the input you two.

They gave us two whiteboards when you start. The whiteboards at my center were not erasable anyway so you just have to get up and ask to swap out your current ones for two new ones. You are not allowed to have more than two at a time at my center. You can call your center ahead of time and ask them their policy.

They come from time to time to check on you, ask then if you think you're running out of sheet.

Also get the tissue while you walk in for the exam.

Don't throw the tissue away or erase anything.

P.S these are trivial things, don't think much about them. Just concentrate on your test.

We were not allowed to get up. We were told that if we needed anything to raise our hands and they would come get us. This is including when we were finished with the exam. If we held up our boards or pens, they would know to automatically bring us new ones, so it saved a bit of time. BEC was my only exam where I had to ask for new boards.
