Public Accounting Notice

I work at an auditing firm, and we create our schedules months in advance. I just accepted another job that starts in a couple months. How much notice do I need to give my firm? I want to give them as much time as possible, but I also don’t want to give them too much time to where they tell me to just go ahead and leave. Any ideas?

    2 weeks.

Don't need to risk people looking at your differently/being let go early. Further, if something happens to that other job between now and then you'll be in a tough spot if you put in notice 8 weeks in advance. Finally, ALL public accounting firms schedule way far in advance, and still, 2 weeks notice is the standard.

    To second acamp:

    Two weeks.

Unless you REALLY LOVE everyone there AND you can afford to take an unplanned and unpaid two month sabbatical. ‘Cause you could…
