Hey I know this is gonna sound like a self centered question but I’ll ask it anyways

I have no relevant experience in accounting and I’m looking for a job in public accounting, I understand that your suppose to put that you put what sections you passed as a highlight of your resume, but should you include your score too if your proud of it (92)? I know this isn’t a great question to ask but I need an opinion

    FAR 92
    AUD 91
    BEC 11/06/2011
    REG 02/01/2012

    @kdbfg4 92 does not mean 92% correct

and not everyone can pass the CPA if they had enough time on his/her hands. It does take some smarts and discipline. Everyone at this website COULD, but it does take time and hard work

“The answers are all out there”

YES The answers are out there but not during the exam (closed book). You have to be able to apply the principles that are “out there” to problems in a reasonable time period, and even with a book open it wouldn't be done efficiently if you haven't practiced.

I was actually told by a partner at a Big 4 that he threw away resumes of anyone who put CPA scores on them. Said it made them look arrogant and thought it was silly since its basically a qualification for the job.

I disagree with this next part, but just to show some people see it this way… He also said that people with high scores obviously either 1) don't have enough else to do or 2) didn't manage their time well and did too much work.

Part of the problem here is that everyone is going to see it differently, but with just one score in the 90's I'd just put on their that you're pursuing it. You can always bring it up in the interview.

    FAR: 84
    AUD: 95
    REG: 78
    BEC: 88

….so if someone has a 3.9 GPA, leave it off because the only thing that counts is the degree and putting the 3.9 makes a person look arrogant?

I don't see the problem in putting the score down. You're not bragging, you're giving facts (and selling yourself to a potential employer)….GPA, test scores, etc.

Now if you're at lunch with coworkers, then yea, don't bring up the score. Just say you passed and be humble.

@eartzi, I agree .. I believe the partner the previous poster mentioned is just one insecure and arrogant person himself
