What does “Initial Interest” mean when HR has marked your profile after completing an application? I have been wondering for weeks what that status means because I really want to work for PwC and I have some offers on the table now and I want to wait if that means that I’ll be granted an interview. Someone on another forum says that HR marks your profile as “Initial Interest” when they are expecting to give you a phone interview. Is this true?

If you have offer on the table, you need to let them know. A big 4 firm streamlined my interview process after I told them that I have offer on the table and the whole process was done within 4 days

Be prepared to be disappointed in their offer also as it will most likely be less than all other offers in public accounting.

Not sure why CPjAson says this about PwC,

I'm starting PwC next month, and am getting paid market rates comparable to other places in the area I'm working. I think my offer was $500 more than someone and $500 less than a different offer. It all seems very comparable.

If you have other offers, just let them know when you need to get back to them – I'm sure they can help expedite the process. They aren't going to be mad that you're a hot ticket item 🙂
