I am getting my application together to send in to the State Board and asked my manager to prepare a letter for me to verify my work experience. Do one of you have a sample letter you could send me? My manger hasn’t had to write one before so I said I would find a sample…

    Thanks in advance!!

Sorry to hijack but I have a Louisiana specific question relating to experience as well. My boss is licensed in Texas but he's inactive. Our former controller was licensed in Louisiana but he was also inactive while I worked under him but when he left he became active again. Can the controller sign off on my experience since he's active now and I worked under him?

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 69, 69, 69, 74, 85

    Check out this link:

    https://cpaboard.state.la.us/explain-the-work-experience-that-is-necessary-for-the-purpose-of-obtaining-a-license-cpa-certificate/

Paragraph 4 – looks like he needed to be active while you were working under him. This page also lists other ways of verifying experience…hopefully one of them works for you!

@Crockpot, are you in public or industry? I am in industry and I can send you a sample for that if you like, just send me your ★★★ or Kricket can forward it to me.

@lsutigers03, as long as you worked under someone within the last four years and they had their license active at any point in those four years in any state then they can sign off on you. My CFO is inactive in Louisiana and in retired status in Texas but was active for a while within the last four years and they accepted his signing off on my experience.

@bnrhilton – I would appreciate a sample if you don't mind for when I finish. I don't see myself every doing public again so the industry sample should be great. My email is ★★★.
