I’m using the NIU CPA Review Corrsepondence. I’ve already passed FAR, and am now scheduled to take AUD on December 8th.

Any other NIU CPA Review students care to share their overall strategy and study method for the AUD exam? Did you read the books multiple times after lectures as Debra suggests? Did you listen to lectures multiple times? Do you take notes? Supplement with Gleim or Wiley MCQs? How many hours would you estimate it took you to fully prepare?

Anything else you care to share would be greatly appreciated.

For all sections I only went through the lectures once. I only read AUD once after the lectures and took the online quizzes once. However, after taking two sections of the exam, I found the following routine to be the most effective for studying.

I listened to the lecture once and work alongside the lecturer. Then, I read through the books and worked the problems in the books. Then I would take the online quizzes.I would read the books one more time and really focus on my weaknesses from the online quizzes. Lastly, I'd take the quizzes again a day or two before the exam and quickly skim through the books again on the day of the exam. I found this routine to be most effective for me.

I would say this would take me about 3 weeks of full time studying for AUD.

NIU CPA Review Correspondence is awesome!

Lectures once, read book after lecture while doing MCQ in book then doing the quiz for that topic. After that, do the testlets online only for AUD/FAR. I would buy wiley for more MCQ. After doing testlets do a ton of MCQ and keep track of areas you are doing worse at and re reading those areas and taking notes to understand more in depth.

@jenuno01 – Kasia is the reason I chose NIU CPA Review! I was lurking on the forum and read some of her posts. She marketed the program like it was her job! I ended up emailing her to get some additional info and she sold it to me.

@Da Bears – That's hilarious. Just heard that story a couple of days ago. Although 72 inches was amazing, 69.7 inches is still very impessive!

I just finished playing Bozo Buckets. Now I'm off to eat a HAMBOCI sandwhich.

Hi,

I too joined NIU cpa for Far on the NIU CPA Review Correspondence. I am too nervous to even begin. I joined in June 2012 and I am seriously thinking about getting my act together and studying for it. I would love your input/ advise on how I should go about it. I see very impressive scores for FAR. I would like to know if studying the books and listening to the lecture and doing the online quiz on blackboard would be enough or I should buy Gleim or Wiley.

Please advise.
