I was wondering if anyone knew for sure when the recruiting process begins with all the major firms like PWC, KPMG, EY, Deloitte, and even firms like Plante & Moran? More specifically I was wondering when this process begins for all of their entry level tax and audit positions? I live in Detroit and went to school at Wayne State University in Detroit. I was curious because I want to try and get a head start on this whole process so that I can increase my chances of landing a job with one of them. Thanks in advance everybody!!!\n

offlineMemberI second that. start hitting the career fairs and sending apps in early September. I know that PwC's application process is 100% online (when i talked to a recruiter at a job fair a few years ago all he said to me was to go to their website, not a very helpful person), not sure about the other big 4 though\n

offlineMemberIf I were you I'd even start in August for the Big 4 firms.... they usually get overly busy in September with job fairs and college visits so if they are able to see your resume and cover letter ahead of time it would be very beneficial.\n

offlineMemberI indirectly know a young partner at Plante & Moran. I know him because of my friend who is a CPA. My friend told him about me. He really seemed impressed with me when my friend talked about me. The partner said that he wanted me to get into contact with him. I have been trying for the last three weeks and he finally left me a voice mail early this morning saying to send him an up-to-date resume. He said that he would forward it to the right people. So I emailed him just moments ago, attaching my resume to the email. So I'm hoping that this helps!
\nAlso, thanks everybody for the input. I figured that with the Fall approaching that I should start to get on the ball. I have already talked to HR at PWC and E&Y. They have my resume and they too said that they would forward it to the right people. So hopefully these early seeds that I'm planting will pay off!\n

offlineMemberI take it you're a 4th year this coming fall? If you haven't made any prior contacts for firms, you could continue trying to get in touch with HR like you did with PwC and EY. I would also try to go beyond just trying to hand in a resume. Ask if you can also visit the office or perhaps talk to an associate on the phone to learn what the job is like, blah blah.
\nAnyways hit your career fairs/meet the firms hard in fall as that's basically the hiring process. You submit your resume/cl/etc then and interview in fall for most universities.
\nThat being said, the Big4 have really high acceptance rates for interns now so be aware that there are less full time positions per school compared to a few years prior. Meet as many professionals as you can.\n
