I took REG this morning and when I finished with my last simulation, I clicked "done" at the top right of the screen. It took me to window that asked if I wanted to review my exam, and the options were "quit exam", "yes", and "continue". I clicked "quit exam", thinking that I was finished, and that was the option to finish the exam. After clicking, it took me straight to the Prometric home screen. When I left the test room, they did not have confirmation that I had finished my test and could not give me a print out to take home, but said that it was probably not an issue and I should be OK. I am worried that my exam will not be graded. Do you have any insight? Thanks.

onlineadminWell, you definitely clicked the wrong option. I would call Prometric and see if they have a record of you taking your exam. I don't know how the computer system treats such things...it can be very tempermental.

offlineMemberReading the post, not knowing the end, broke my heart. I am glad it had a happy ending! I am wondering if we should start a campaign to have the button put somewhere where it is not easy to click... for example, far left corner... and very small button, and have the buttons that we normally use, right in the center and much bigger!
Like Jeff, one of my horrible fears is clicking the quit button accidentally. I usually move my mouse very slowly, and double-check where the cursor is and then click and hold just to be double-sure and then let go! I am sorry, but after all the effort that goes into preparing for the exam, you cannot be too careful! I would rather err on the side of caution.

onlineadminThe worst CPA Exam horror story I've heard so far - well there's 2, actually.
1) A guy wrote me about a year ago because he sat down at the computer to take his BEC exam. He got carried away with writing down formulas and his computer locked up after 10 minutes and he had to wait to take BEC until the next window.
Heartless.
2) Cindy Simpson - one of Yaeger's instructors had to take the CPA Exam twice because the state of Maryland lost everyone's exam at the airport. Something like that, anyway.

I also received e-mail from NASBA saying that mine was safely recorded and transmitted for scoring as it should be!! (Yet it does NOT mean I pass though...) That's freain' cool and makes me feel like to dive into ocean from 10miles high!!
And then, what is that option for...anyway?

offlineMemberHappened to me today.... I don't know what I was thinking at the end, but I click "quit exam" instead of end exam at the very end. It took me back to prometric desktop without the survey. The lady at the front desk was able to print out the conformation page and told me everything was saved. But I will call the state of MD just to make sure tomorrow morning. PLEASE BE AWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! especially when you are at the end of the exam and you are tired and just want to get out of that room.

offlineMemberI have a feeling that that button stems from other standardized tests, for instance when I took the mcat it had that option but by hitting it your exam was not graded and it was like you never took it. So I am glad to hear that you are ok.

offlineMemberHappened to me too. I was so exhausted that I just wasn't paying much attention to what I was doing. The lady at the prometric center told me it did not show I completed the exam, but she was kind enough to make phone calls to find out that my test would be graded and nothing was lost. Still was stressful until I got my results. It was a 74, so it still sucked all the way around.

offlineMemberI did something similar for audit. I was so tired and I couldn't solve one sim. I don't think I clicked the same button I did on the other tests. I probably did something similar to this situation. However, the person who checked me out had confirmation that I had answered every question. A person right before me got his confirmation but it said not every question was answered. I would be very concerned if they can't give you any confirmation, not even confirming a bad submission or error.

offlineMemberChalk me up as another one that clicked "Quit." I did it today after taking BEC. The girls at the center told me that the info. was gone, but I called Prometric and they instructed me to call NASBA. I called NASBA and they said it is probably ok, but I had to send an email to a certain somebody and sit here and wait for a response.
Even though the exam didn't beat me down too badly, like somebody else said, I just wanted to get out of there.

offlineMemberI received an email today confirming that my answers were captured, saved and transmitted to the AICPA for scoring. I was also informed that the "quit" button is ok to click as the exam auto saves as somebody mentioned earlier in this thread.....not that I will be clicking it again.

offlineMemberso besides worrying about how the difficult the exam is, we also have to worry about being careful not to exit the exam before we're done? I suppose there is a prompt asking you "are you sure you want to exit the exam'"???? Im gonna crap ma pants 4 real... :'(
