Just curious guys, What is your age range when you have passed all the exams?

I feel like, I’m so behind to write this exam at this stage of my life

Hi, i'm 29 worked on Big 4 for 5 yrs and kept putting it off. took the exam when i was 21… FAIL…. Now i'm in the private sector, and i have AUD this week. Hopefully passing it and on to REG.

    Good luck!!!

as my Becker prof. & college teacher used to say… “this is not a race of who gets there first, it's actually about having the resistance and getting there”

    AUD - 78
    REG - 8.31.11

I'm 31 and am trying to take the exam. I've been working for a Big 4 since I was in college over 10 yrs ago. I am married with 2 kids, so am really struggling with time management. I often want to kick my butt for not doing this before I had kids!!

I'm 53. Was a stay-at-home mom who went back to school. Got my masters 5 years ago but had to delay getting a job because of my mother's health which was a full time job for me at times. Thought I'd at least be able to take the exam during this time even if I didn't have a job, but there was a crisis every week or two that completely got me off track. Am now in position to get job, but thought I should take the exam first because it would refresh my knowledge and make me a more attractive employee prospect even if I didn't pass. So I'm taking all the exams in this text window. Took FAR on 4/1 and AUD on 4/15 and am scheduled to take REG on 4/29 and BEC on 5/13. Think I did OK on FAR and AUD but am really concerned about REG. Fortunately I have a supportive husband who doesn't mind that I'm studying all day every day and unable to converse on much outside accounting. Am nervous about finding a job because of my age but just trying to focus on the exam right now and worry about the job until next month when I start looking.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

37 years old with wife and no kids yet. I have a BA & MA in Econ, and just finished my MA in Acctg about a year ago. The switch to the acctg field and getting CPA license is my second career after I got bored in economics.

    BEC - 83 (10/22/10)
    REG - 87 (11/30/10)
    AUD - 76 (02/26/11)
    FAR - 79 (04/26/11)

37 years old too. Took the paper test a couple of times almost ten years ago. Never had a chance to study back then, was living out of a suitcase as an auditor. Left public and did not need it. Decided to come back to public and forced myself to start studying last fall. Received my permit last week.

    BEC 10/05/10 84
    FAR 11/02/10 80
    AUD 11/30/10 90
    REG 02/28/11 78

I was 24 years old when I took my first paper exam and after a few unsuccessful tries I decided to take a “short break”. Fast-forward six years – Started the whole process all over again at 30 and finished at 32. Not sure if I would be considered average……

    REG 68,67,83(7/2010); FAR 43,71,80(8/2010); AUD 85(11/2010); BEC 74,79(2/2011)
    NYS CPA 5/2011
    EA 2/2011

I started taking accounting classes to reach the requisite number of hours for my state when I was 45……fast forward to starting the exam process when 47 and still working on it..but my 48th is around the corner.

I KNOW I am not the average…I am definitely the exception. Words of advice: if you can do this when you are younger, believe me, it is much better to do so. My oldest is a sophmore in college and I keep coaching him on getting his masters after he finishes with his degree. I wish I had taken my own advice. I started on my masters in business back in the day, but it was when my husband and I were just married and we were broke. The bank I worked at decided to take away the education benefit and I was unable to continue since we couldn't afford it. Then babies came, life got in the way. Never was able to pick up where I left off.

So, now I am studying like mad—definitely makes me feel old. Hard to get back to school work and that study mode process after 24 years. I am rusty! But hanging in there!

Haha @michelle119, my boyfriend is my child most of the time. I just turned 22 and graduated undergrad. I'm trying to sit for all four exam sections between May and October to get it started. I'm finishing grad school and closing on our first house right after I take my first exam at the end of the month. I saw a ton of people at my co-op's struggling to finish the exam so I want to get it done as soon as possible! My work helps with Becker so that's my prime motivation too!
