I took my AUD exam Jan 26th and found out my score last week.

    Got a 67 .. 🙁

I thought I did good on the exam & finished 45 mins early.

My plan is to redo MCs and Ninja Notes —- starting March 11th untill my exam day.

Any suggestions how to approach retake?

    AUD--52,68,83, expired. Retake = 74 RETAKE - 7.24.26
    FAR--73,70,68,75
    BEC-- 79
    REG-- 68,62,75

as crazy as it may sound, rewrite the ninja notes. When I failed AUD for the 2nd time, I gave myself 30 days. I rewrote 10 pages per day of the ninja notes, every single day, no matter what else I was doing (and did no less than 100 MCQ's). My 3rd attempt at AUD was significantly better.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

The weird thing was I thought I nailed the exam or at least pass.

But it was my first exam – so who knows.

Okay – I ‘ll try re-writing Ninja Notes

    Anybody else with suggestions?

@23K, Have you completed final 1 + 2 in Becker? Just wondering.

IMHO, they are great as practice MCQ and help to cement materials. Take it with grain of salt though b/c I took test last night and do not have score. But from what I experienced, both finals in AUD were very helpful to check out my understanding and sims were great as to forcing me to go thru the motions (as in using my brains).

23k I am sorry to hear of your score. You know I am rooting for you. I would suggest not just reviewing. But start from step one and study like you have never seen this material before. You don't need 8 more points to pass, you need 75, and the best way to start is from scratch.

Why are you waiting until 3/11 to start studying?

    Thanks for the encouragement..

I want to finish my project for my accounting theory class b/c I have

5 weeks left then I'll have my masters in accounting..

Then I'll have 4 weeks to study and not worry about school.

@23K, Yeah, 70s in Becker is good meat in actual exam.

Did you feel you have rushed thru or perhaps misread a lot of questions on the actual exam, you know those “at least” vs. “least” vs. “most likely” vs. “not likely” and my favorite that I often miss “all but”?

At any rate, I agree with MCKLT, go back and start at ground zero, perhaps even re-listen lectures and use Willey TB this time to actually verify that you know Becker materials against Willey MCQ. That is my plan if I fail any of the sections (currently using basic becker).

    hey keep your head up!

I just found out I failed my AUD exam last month. I went from 70 to 68 and now to a 60…

I say just review everything all over again and make sure you leave extra time on the SIMS!

Yeah the same thing happened to me the first time too. I finished with like 40 minutes left and felt so confident about it and when I got my score back it was a 69. I only gave myself 16 days to restudy for it and I got a 84 the next time. Auditing is tricky. Sometimes makes me thinks its just a gamble. I would almost suggest retaking it again sooner rather than later. If you work full-time with overtime then it might be a different matter. But the material is probably still fresh in your head, so I would try and tackle it maybe April 4-5 instead of 19. Just keep re-doing MCs and try your best to find out why you're wrong for certain problems and which part of the notes the question is testing you on.

@SammyJ- What did you do with those 16 days that your score improved so significantly? Also how did the other tests seem in comparison to AUD?

I agree, try to rewrite the NINJA notes at least once. I'm not sure of your time situation.. however I had to carve out at least 8 hours for this. I would wait to do this until about 2 weeks before your exam.

To start I would take a quick 30-50 question MCQ exam on random questions on all topics. Evaluate your weak areas. Do MCQs til you're sick in those weak areas and consistently scoring above 80%. Once you've done that spread out your time on all topics just doing MCQ over and over and over. Understand not only why its correct, but why its incorrect.

Also try to remember on your exam for the SIMS to utilize the Authoritative Literature. I'm not sure if thats what helped me out … but lets just say my exam scores directly reflect how much I used the Authoritative Lit on each exam for the Sim section. (It took me until this last time to realize that I needed to try and use it for ALL of my sims).

    @noluckcandidate

Well after I failed Auditing the first time, my friend bought me the 10 point combo from Ninja which are the NInja Notes and the Wiley Test Banks. I ended up reviewing about 2 chapters of Audit material per day. I redid every Becker Auditing MC. Then I proceeded to do all 1100 Wiley Test Bank MCs. And I glanced over the 85 page of Ninja Notes, which are just really condensed notes, but there are some little factoids in there that I ended up jotting down when I felt it might show up on the test.

Overall, I have heard a lot of cases where ppl felt confident after taking Auditing and end up failing. My suggestion is to take it once every testing window until you pass. You dont need a whole month to restudy for it if you fail in my opinion. For me, when I found out I failed Auditing, I was already in the middle of studying for REG. Luckily I used that as motivation to study harder for REG which I took before my Audit retake.

I think my suggestion is to really take the time to look over your answers. With Audit, everyone always seem to finish with like 50 minutes left. So make sure you re-read every question because until other sections, one word change could be a huge difference. And I cannot emphasize this enough, DO A LOT OF MCs. If you dont do any SIMs thats fine, but keep doing and re-doing MCs.

As for the comparison between AUD and the other 3, I think study wise its the easiest. I think you'll be alright allocating much less time for that as opposed to REG and FAR. There are practically no math involved. It's understanding rules and ethics. The good thing about Auditing is that many times you can eliminate answers just based off of using your own morality. Just base your choice off of professional judgment and you can eliminate one or two answers usually. Good luck!

Any words of wisdom for someone who is tackling AUD for the first time? I am using Becker and am planning a standard study method of going through all the lectures, MC, SIMs, and flashcards as I go and then review/final test.

Is Becker alone enough in your opinion?

Any specific concepts to pay special attention to or memorize as I go through the material?

    Thanks for your help!
