Anyone know of any good online courses or other suggestions for learning Quickbooks starting from the novice level, other than local community college route.

    Any suggestions are appreciated

How about any books for Quickbooks or Excel? Preferably ones that also have examples for practice.

Novice and advanced suggestions please if anyone has.

Best I've come across for QB fundamentals is from Sleeter.com (The QuickBooks 2014 Fundamentals textbook from The Sleeter Group offers more than just typical software instruction. It is packed with hands-on step-by-step exercises that have students working directly in QuickBooks while they learn the accounting behind the scenes and the best practices. It provides a complete experiential learning environment with a 140-day QuickBooks software license, sample data files, and practice exercises so the students can apply what they are learning in class.) I think it's important to be able to practice using the software, not just reading about it.

Check out the other Sleeter products while you're there: https://www.sleeter.com/products

If you are still in school some universities offer free access.

If you are looking for a resume boost you can also become “Lynda Certified”.
