I receive quite a few emails, mostly through Linkedin, from recruiters regarding positions they’d like to fill. I’m currently not looking to make a move. Is it necessary to reply to each of them to let them know I’m not interested?

I usually use the ‘not interested' button within linkedIn and then it gives me 2 auto-reply choices: “thank you for thinking of me, but I'm not interested” & “I'm not interested now, but let's stay in touch”. If it's a reputable company I usually pick the second choice because you never know and it's good to have a network. If it's some headhunter firm that sends form letters, I pick the first choice.
