I failed REG with a 68. I used the Becker books and Wiley questions to prepare. I used the same combo for the other three and passed easily. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which materials I should use to supplement? Any tips on mastering REG would be appreciated. Congrats to all who have passed.

I scored a 59 on my first try. I was using Ninja notes, Wiley test bank and I bought the slides from CPA Review for Free (not bad, but they are basically just the explanations that Wiley gives after each question word for word). I planned to take it again six weeks later and only did Ninja MCQ,. I got a 78. I had a hard time with Ninja MCQ at the start because the questions are more difficult, but it helped me in the end.

Thank-you. I am seriously considering adding the Ninja 10 point combo. I've read that the Wiley questions do a poor job preparing candidates for REG compared to other sections. I took the exam at the end of August. Much of the material is still fresh in my head. (Still have all of my notes handy). Do you think a month of full-time studying is about right for the retake? Also, my background is in audit and I have trouble memorizing tax rules. Do you think churning out as many of the Ninja questions is the best way to overcome this?

I think a month of nonstop Ninja MCQ would work. The subsections really helped me. For example, Wiley only has partnerships, but with Ninja you can narrow the topic down and take questions on the specific area that you have trouble with. I also took notes on the explanations.I also found that the Ninja notes highlighted the imported areas.

Sounds like Ninja MCQ and Notes are the way to go. Thanks again

REG is the only one I didn't use NINJA on and I loved it for the other 3 (and that was before the NINJA MCQ were available). Pre-MCQ 10-point combo helped me pass FAR after a 74, so I definitely recommend it, with the MCQ, for your retake.
