Becker Question –

does it drive any one else CRAZY, that when Peter reads out of the book, he just put in his own words instead of reading what the book says? For example, he’ll start reading something important form the book, and then mid-sentence he’ll just start saying whatever he wants. It totally throws me off and just aggravates the living crap out of me. I can understand if he’s trying to make a separate example to help us better understand an issue, but his paraphrasing is just uncalled for.

I dislike his lectures to begin with and this makes it worse, I try not to let it bother me, but it just does. I mean he makes easy things hard because he confuses you with his paraphrasing. Gosh I cant wait until I’m done.

I took a step back after I posted this… now just watching the computer screen and underlining as he instructs, but not reading my actual book, just listening, its definitely helping, and he's starting to win me over.. I think he should audition for the next jersey shore

I didn't like Peter initially either. He grows on you though. For all the silliness and cheese stuff, you'll be amazed how you'll recall the cheesy stuff in the middle of an exam and get an answer right.

I like both Olinto and Gearty. I just don't like how Gearty says the word “again” like five thousand times per lecture.

I liked Olinto's way of making you think this is doable, can be understood & can be passed. He said it a few times in BEC that it looks overwhelming but can be done, just go over the problem 3 times & you'll have it – & he was right. I preferred Gearty's way of telling you what to underline that Olinto wouldn't do (except to say “Star this”). I was underlining everything Olinto said before I started figuring out what needed to be.

Gearty should be an elementary school teacher. He was about as corny as I could stand but the cornier he got, the more I remembered his statement. In 2010's version of FAR, I felt he just gave up on ch. 8 & 9 (NFP & Govt) so I had to do more review there. The unfortunate part is people think these chapters aren't as important & Gearty did not help with being less than enthusiastic but you have to know those chapters well.

peter olinto is way better than gearty. he makes the lectures a little more interesting and funny. gearty is too serious, but i've noticed he's starting to crack jokes like olinto. and yea, gearty repeats words like 5 times.
