I have noticed that the ‘covered opinion’ rule has been eliminated from Circular 230 as well as the Becker CPA exam review. But I still saw couple of questions related to covered opinion when I was doing the homework.

My question is: since the ‘covered opinion’ rule has been eliminated, is it still gonna be tested in the REG exam?

It has been eliminated? you mean in the V1.2? Becker is late on me; they told me the book is out of stock…

I am not sure if we still need to understand this topic for the exam.

Has anyone found an answer to this yet? I have the same question. Don't want to waste my time even answering the question s if it doesn't exist anymore. I'll ask in the Q3 study group for reg.

Ummm… FWIW, I just passed REG with an 86 and I have no idea what a covered opinion even is.

Thanks! And it only took 3 years, haha. (I took a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time on AUD because I never thought I would pass.) Hopefully the REG group says the same thing and you don't have to worry about it. 🙂 Good luck!

Was there ever a consensus on whether or not this is testable/if it's worth trying to understand? Taking the exam in 2 weeks.
