REG in 5 weeks? Doable?

    I am contemplating scheduling my REG exam 5 weeks from now and to start studying now. I am not working at the moment so I would be studying full time. Those of you who have or are studying REG, do you think this is doable or would you highly recommend I give myself some more time. Just looking for some insight and good luck to anyone taking REG or any other section soon!

    Do you have tax experience? If you aren't working I'd say it's doable either way. I have no tax experience and I've been studying 10 full weeks. I'll probably put in 250+ hours studying by the time exam day rolls around this week and I could probably study for another week and still not feel prepared.

    The amount of material is pretty heavy… but if you can fit in 200+ hours (less with tax experience), you are probably good. Granted, I take a lot of time to study, so a lot of people probably think I'm nuts for putting in over 250 hours.

    Oh yeah you should definitely give it a try. As long as you're unemployed, try to fit as many exams in as possible. I think I gave myself around 6 weeks. but I was pretty prepared after 4.5-5 weeks. And it was a time when I didnt have a job or school or anything. However, it was during the Thanksiving/Christmas time, but I was fine.

    Yeah definitely start now. REG has a lot of material, but the exam isn't terrible.

    FAR-81!!
    AUD-69, Retake: 84!!
    REG-86!!
    BEC-81!!
    Education- Done
    Ethics- August 2013
    Experience- 7 Months of CPA Experience and counting!

    I took REG in 5 weeks. Was not working during the time, so I had all the time in the world to spend studying. My final review week was right when grad school started back up again after break, but it wasn't terrible work load wise. You can do it!

    B-85 OCT 2012
    A-84 NOV 2012
    R-90 JAN 2013
    F-89 AUG 2012
    Ethics-92 (3rd try)
