Same boat as you but once you go over it again and you write notes it will stick. Try looking at the tax returns and you'll remember which deductions are where.
What I'm doing is that on one side of the paper I'm writing Corp. tax rules and on the other the Individual tax rules.
And also S-Corp Vs. Partnership tax rules.
Keep going at it. The more you study the better it starts to come together.
I found myself in the same boat a month ago. With time pressure(only 3 weeks), I had to trust myself that I will eventually remember. And I did. I started the Non-tax sections first(wiley's chapters) and move to Tax sections when time close to my exam. B-law was a easier to me but guess what on the exam day, I have everything is strong but B-law. Funny, huh? The tip is to not worry about the little details like phase-out limits now, but come back to it and do tons of M/C. They will be there when you need them on exam.
