So…. Took reg yesterday. First testlet, a joke, second and third testlet, pretty difficult. SIMS seemed too easy. Is this a result of bombing the third testlet?

    Super nervous.

    No.
Difficulty of of 2nd MCQ testlet is based on your performance on 1st MCQ testlet
Difficulty of 3rd MCQ testlet is based on your performance on 2nd MCQ testlet
Difficulty of your SIMS isn't based on any of your performance

Same here! I took regulation yesterday, and I thought the sims were easy. I work in tax though, so maybe it's not easy for non-tax people?

Sims were kinda easy for me too. One kinda got me though but I'm hoping its the throw away. Regardless I did my best. I work in tax so I literally did something I worked on as a project for the Sims (Sims are easier than real life).

that testing machine comment made my day thx 😀

everybody studies different tho i found out on this forum. (some people cram for the weekend they claim!) i have horrible long term memory so its all about short term cramming- one test every 20-25 days. thats for AUD, BEC, REG tho, FAR im taking after tax season and will probably require a month and a half.

my BEC tips is to not underestimate COSO/ERM. know basic IT stuff, i wouldnt go crazy into detail on that. dont spend more than an hour prepping for WC. also i would cram the formulas in the car outside of prometric. and then write them down on the laminated sheet they give you in the 10 minutes before the exam. that way you got them to rely on without wasting time on the exam. variance was the hardest topic for me.

I took REG a few weeks ago and felt the SIMS were brutal. I will say though tax is not me. I hate anything to do with tax with a passion. I left there feeling like a complete moron.

Eesti, I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a horrible long term memory!

I did all but about 10-15 sims in the Ninja material. I think I just got lucky on what I needed to know.

I took REG in November '15. I can't really remember my SIMS lol but I don't remember them being headaches. I didn't think the exam was bad at all, but I also work in tax. I made an 82, but I think that was only because I got so bored studying business law that I just skipped the rest of it to practice on nailing my tax questions. I wouldn't recommend that to others, but I figured if I could get around 90% of tax right, make some lucky guesses in Law, I should be able to pass. 🙂
