May sound like the dumbest thing to ask…but yes..

so on some of my Becker sims….i see that the question doesn’t specify where brackets are needed. so I enter an expense amount in (brackets)….n voila…my answer is wrong !!!

The question stem says something like..’rental exp of 2000’…..and common sense I think i need an negative number in the cell. anyone experienced this dilemma? or am I going crazy with reg coming up next week..

and is the actual exam generally very specific and clear about the positive and negative nos.?

    comments appreciated..thanks:)

From my experience with CPA exams they will be specific in telling you how to input a number.

No need to get frustrated, you know the answer 🙂

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.

I hated that as well with the Becker sims, almost each chapter I got the whole sims wrong because I used my conventional thinking and they weren't clear, and then would try it their way and viola they wanted parenthesis on this one….

Luckily, on my exam for sims, it clearly stated how they wanted the numbers, ie. enter all numbers as positives, or enter negatives as a negative value so I was very happy to see that.
