REG Simulations :(

    I just took REG this past weekend. I used Becker to study for about 150-200 hours. I was pretty confident in all of the multiple choice packets; I only had to make educated guesses on a few for each packet. However, the sims were absolutely terrible for me. I didn’t even know where to begin. I know I got the research question correct and filled something in for all of the simulations with, again, educated guesses and left with 30 minutes left. I had a general basis for my guesses but, at the end of the day, had no full confidence in any of my sim answers.

    I’ve taken FAR and BEC and passed with an 85 and 88, respectively, so I know I have good study habits. Does anyone know if there is still hope for me to pass? Waiting for that score is going to be terrible.

    There's always hope. You got the research question so let's say that 6.67 marks. Let's say you got 50% on 2, and 75% on 4. If a pretest was a 50%, which is likely, you would have achieved roughly 30 marks out of 40 by getting only 1 right and 75% on just 4 others. Now this may not have been the way it happened, but you can see it is possible to get a passing score even with only getting 1 100% right. If you did well on the MCQ's, which it sounds like you did, then even less than 30 out of the 40 marks could be enough to see you through.

    I have read a lot of stories on here about people thinking they did terrible and coming out with a pass. Both of my exams I was on the fence and got mid 90's so it is possible that you did better than you think. Good luck, really hope you did enough !!

    FAR - 95
    REG - 93
    AUD - 91
    BEC - 85

    Thank you. Good to know. Did anyone else have a similar feeling and still pass?

    I just took reg yesterday and felt pretty comfortable with the mc. I know I got some wrong of sure but otherwise I felt pretty good about it. When it came to the sims forget about it. I left three blank completely. Including the research. The first one I was very comfortable with. The second one I think I got a lot correct. And the third one I was pretty sure I got a lot right on too. Iron ably got like 10-15 mc wrong. Some I know are pretest questions. Is if possible that i still passed?. Even if I didn't, which I know is a huge possibility, I'm much more comfortable and less nervous going forward.

    I felt pretty much the same on mcqs and SIMS for REG. I thought REG SIMS were much harder than FAR. I didn't think I passed REG – to the point I was planning my retake for AUG. It's so hard to tell. I have a friend who left three SIMS blank on FAR and still passed with a 76. It's definitely possible. Good luck!

    My REG sims were brutal! I knew I had failed because I literally floundered through. I can say that many people with the same experience passed, as did I. Seems like having miserable sims is a good indication. Hoping that stands true for you.

    Also, the exact reason I am sure I failed AUD. my testlets didn't seem to get harder and my sims were not too bad. REG is the only thing I have to compare it to though. We shall see.

    Here we go......?

    REG - April 06, 2013 PASSED
    AUD
    FAR

    @RopinC… the simulations are NOT adaptive, which means that your performance on the MC questions has no bearing whatsoever on the simulations that show up on your exam.

    Second… everyone should just relax with the REG simulations. I felt awful as well when I left Prometric due to the simulations, and did fine. So many other candidates have a similar experience. It's probably safe to assume that REG provides the most leeway in terms of performance with the simulations; you can screw up one, or two, or three, and still pass with a significant margin if you've done well on the MC questions and answered at least a couple of the simulations correctly.

    I know that there is no way I earned more than 70-75% of the total raw points on the sims (at the most!) and still was left with a considerable passing margin. If you read through the posts for REG, you'll see a lot of the same.

    Miraculously I passed the exam with an 82. Without Touching three simulations.

    You didnt do 3 and you got an 82?!

    I am going to be so upset if I don't pass REG when I get my score on Monday or Tuesday. lol

    FAR: 72, 68, 73, 78 (passed)
    REG: 61, 70, 73, 63, 78 (passed)
    AUD: 65, 84 (passed)
    BEC: 89 (passed)

    NASBA gave Doby a passing score, Doby is freeee!!

    @Egenin89,

    Congrats to you, awesome dude! I remember you waiting last night, worrying. This is great, it gives hope to others. But you've probably killed MCQ, gotta be!

    @InterFC1,

    How is that AUD score coming up? Good luck!
