REG Study Approach

I’m planning to take the REG exam on June 4th. I’ve made a study plan where I study 2 hours Sunday-Friday and 4 hours on Saturday. This equals 118 hours by test day. I’d like feedback on how I should spend this time. I have the Becker program and my initial plan was to listen to the lectures at work (not included in the study time), then watch the lectures at home so I can copy the notes into my book to have them for a fast skim review, and then I was going to just do all the MCQ and simulations with practice tests.

Do you think I should skip watching the lectures the second time and just copy the notes from the ebook which would be much faster and spending all the other time working MC. So say it takes me 2 hours to copy the notes per section that would leave me with about 100 hours of just MC/SIM. I just finished chapter 1 and with listening to the lectures and answering the MC I got 68% correct. As I worked through the MC there were a few topics that I realized I needed to review again. Such as the phaseout amounts and capitalization rules. I’ll go back and read the section for these topics then try the MC again. If I had known these sections I think I would have scored much higher.

Does this seem like a good approach? What should I do differently and what test bank should I use to supplement the Becker MC?

I recommend NINJA MCQ as a review mechanism. I haven't taken REG yet, but will definitely be buying NINJA for my 2 week review. This has worked for me for the other exams.

    1) YES!!! you hit the nail on the head. do NOT watch the lectures a second time, it will be a huge waste. (i argue that watching them even once is a waste)

    2) again awesome idea to go through the highlighted e-book. Becker includes a LOT of extraneous info in their actual book- going through the highlighted book is an awesome idea that will lead to success on the exam! when i took REG my becker had expired and i had to go through the real book. i WISH i had access to the highlighted one at that point. for BEC and AUD i used highlighted book only. I also found Becker's module outline/summaries very helpful.

    3) REG tip: Becker focuses wayyyyyyy too much on bizlaw. (its only 20%(!) of the exam yet they devote half the modules to it. If you're in a time crunch- focus only on the main concepts and ignore the minutiae of those sections odds are ytou won;t even encounter on exam day ive written a lot on these forums about review courses focusing too much on bizlaw- look thru the archives for a better picture.

Thanks for your advice. I'm going to go with the Ninja MCQ and just work those and Becker like crazy. I need to watch/listen to the lectures at least once and go through the Becker MC for the Becker Promise. So do you think I should work through Becker 100% then buy the Ninja MC or do them at the same time?
