Just got back from my REG exam.

The overall experience was OK. I didn’t get a lot of the weird questions, but I do feel that the exam requires knowledge on details. I was worried about business law because I ran out of study time. I think a fair amount of the multiple choice questions are law (about 20%, not including ethics).

I also feel that certain topics are more heavily tested, but I’m not sure if this is normal or those questions are those “pre-test” ones.

Sims are not as bad as I heard from other people. 2 research sim, easy to find.

Overall, I think the questions are kind of similar to those in Becker, compared to my FAR experience. My expectation is to pass with around 80.

Anyway, need to start worrying about BEC, coming up in 2 weeks, and haven’t started study yet.

I take the exam on 11/30 and I've gone through R1-R4 once. Now going through R5-R8 in the next couple of days with daily 24 MCQs review of R1-R4. Any advice that you can give will be really appreciated

I'm not sure how much time you could spend in study every day and how confident you're on R1-R4, but my suggestion is to focus on R1-R5. Needless to say that tax is very important, but I also feel that you should make sure to study R5 thoroughly. For R6-R8, you need to at least go over the material once. You can choose to do the business law homework or skip those – in my opinion, that won't make a huge difference on your score and it requires quite a lot of time.

To be honest, I studied REG for two weeks only. R1-R4 in the first week, and R5-R8 the second week with maximum study time (6-8 hours daily). I think doing the progressive test is a good idea, and if you have Ninja notes/becker flashcard, it will be helpful to go over those daily to refresh memory.

@yukkeko thanks for the feedback. Currently I try to watch as many ninja blitz as I can everyday but I think from today on wards I'll incorporate ninja notes as well.

@Zubairs…the ninja notes are actually really helpful for REG

Btw, what are R4 and R5? I'm an ex-becker user so I can't remember which chapters those relate to.

@rana R4 is property and partnership taxation. R5 is business ethics. I like the ninja Blitz more than the notes but I think I'll start looking into ninja notes as well.
